I'm writing to ask for approval to attend Resolver’s annual user conference, Int:rsect, May 22-25, 2017 in Miami, Florida. The entire community of Resolver product experts will be on hand to share best practices, hands-on training, new innovations, and a lot more. In addition to the 150 event session hours offered, the conference gives me the chance to problem solve with Resolver employees. Resolver is flying all of their services, support, product, development, customer success, and executive team to the event. They are all available for free consultation, 1:1 training, and receive feedback from customers.

While this event will have a larger scope, Resolver has hosted this conference for the past eight years. From last year’s event over 95% of attendees rated the experience as being “Excellent”. Five hundred attendees are expected at this year’s event. Resolver has built a Community App that allows me to easily network with other customers in similar functions, geography, or industry.

Gov. Tom Ridge will keynote the event. Gov. Ridge was the first Secretary of U.S. Homeland Security and was tasked by President Bush to assemble over 20 government agencies into a common mandate. He will speak to the changing nature of threats and how organizations should justify investments in security and risk. Other featured speakers include:

• Bob Hirth, COSO Chairman. COSO has recently released a framework for Enterprise Risk Management.
• Dr. Stephen White. Dr. White is an expert in Workplace Threat Assessments and will offer a four hour training session as well as sit in on a panel discussion.
• Dennis Shepp. Dennis is a noted contributor to the annual ASIS event and an expert in Corporate Security.
• Norman Marks. Noted author and expert in Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Phillip Banks. Noted speaker with 25 years Law Enforcement experience, past chairperson of ASIS.

In addition to offering Product Certifications, the content for this event will also contribute to my [CPE/CPP/ISP] designation. Up to 15 credits are available from this event.

I'll be sure to submit a post-conference report that will include an executive summary, major takeaways, tips, and a set of recommendations to maximize the return on our current investments in Resolver. I can also share relevant information with key personnel throughout the company as we’ll have online access to all of the content made available.
