Key Worker for Vulnerable students / £34,482 / To support all students identified as ‘vulnerable’ or Looked after students / Worked with 63 students, 95% of whom had Pupil Premium entitlement. The support offered facilitated improved attendance and participation for our most vulnerable students. The percentage of these students completing the year above, at or no more than 1 grade / level away from target was 79% for English and 85% for Maths.
0.5 0f A&I teaching staff / £100,931 / To support identified students who also have additional SEN/ EAL needs / Teaching staff allocated to English and maths faculties to intervene with Year 11 students. The % of students with SEN achieving 5A* - C grades with English and Maths increased from 28% in 2013 to 33% in 2013.

School Home Support
25 % cost of worker / £ 8,977 / Dedicated worker to liaise between school and home. Addressing attendance/ achievement/ social / welfare and educational issues / Worked with 177 students, 87% of whom had Pupil Premium entitlement. The support offered facilitated improved attendance, participation and behaviour. The percentage of these students completing the year above, at or no more than 1 grade / level away from target was 82% for English and 86% for Maths. 34% of students exceeded their target grade in Maths
White British Worker / £12,500 / Dedicated worker to address attendance/ achievement/ social / welfare and educational issues / Worked with 35 students, 89% of whom had Pupil Premium entitlement. The support offered facilitated improved attendance, participation and behaviour. The percentage of these students completing the year above, at or no more than 1 grade / level away from target was 71% for English and 86% for Maths. 57% of students met or exceeded their target grade in Maths
Black Somali Worker / £12,500 / Dedicated worker to address attendance/ achievement/ social / welfare and educational issues / Worked with 60 students, 92% of whom had Pupil Premium entitlement. The support offered facilitated improved attendance, participation and behaviour. The percentage of these students completing the year above, at or no more than 1 grade / level away from target was 82% for English and 85% for Maths. 67% met or exceeded their target in English and Maths, and 31% of students made better than expected progress in English and 50% in Maths
Breakfast club / £5,850 / Subsidised breakfast club / 70 students in years 7 – 11 regularly attended breakfast club (96% Pupil premium) with another 11 students accessing the service at times of need.

SLA Welfare and School based Social worker (50 %) / £30,000 / To support families with poor attendance, social, emotional and educational needs / Worked with 65 students, 90% of whom had Pupil Premium entitlement. The support offered facilitated improved attendance, and supported families in crisis. The percentage of these students completing the year above, at or no more than 1 grade / level away from target was 62% for English and 78% for Maths. 30% of students exceeded their target grade in Maths
Rewards for progression / £19,479 / Various:
5+ award for progress in Year 11 trial examinations, ‘in the bag’ award for students achieving GCSE passes, star student awards, key stage 4 motivational competitions for underachieving Pupil Premium students / GCSE outcomes as before.

  • GCSE outcomes as before
  • All students in year 11 attended English intervention (82% Pupil Premium)
  • 29 students achieving at grade D / E in maths attended a Maths residential (28 Pupil Premium). 62% achieved C grades in the summer
  • 16 students (15 Pupil premium) attended 1 to 3 tutoring on Saturdays. 81% improved their grade, and 69% achieved C at GCSE.
  • All students in year 11 attended revision support sessions (82% Pupil Premium)

Looked after Children resources / £12,573 / Laptops for CLA.
One to one tuition /
  • Of the 2 CLA (ever in care) in year 11, 1 achieved 11A* - C grades, with English and Maths, and the other achieved 5 A* - C grades with English (D in Maths)
  • Of the 5 CLA in other school years, all 5 ended the school year within 1 level or grade of their targets in English and Maths, and the majority being 1 or 2 sub levels away.

Literacy / £20,000 / To provide literacy support for students working below chronological age / 76 students (88% Pupil Premium) participated in the Hackney Lit programme – 77% made better than chronological age progress with the average gain being 23 months
