Public Notification of Nondiscrimination in Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs Hearne ISD offers career and technical education programs at Hearne High School. Program of Study: Culinary Arts- This course is offered as a combination of classroom and laboratory in a block setting based on needed experience in the field.

• The course gives students the opportunity to participate in coursework with academic and technical content which prepares them to continue to postsecondary education and training that lead to employment in the restaurant industry.
• The course is taught in a block to include rigorous lab practice connected to the classroom instruction.
• The coursework includes academic and technical content to prepare students for employment in the restaurant industry or postsecondary education.
• The course is a stepping stone between the principles class and the upper level of courses which lead to postsecondary credit or certification.
• This course includes technical and academic standards that prepare all the students for a more successful postsecondary education
• The sequence of culinary arts courses could include the opportunity for college credit
• The culinary arts course allows students to pursue a national certification.

All community communication materials distributed from Hearne ISD is in dual language base on our population.

CTE courses are offered to all students regardless of special education requirements and modifications made to accommodate individual student success.

Single parents are enrolled in CTE courses and certifications are offered for those courses.
