The Mark Twain PTSA awards honors to volunteers and staff who have given extra. We need input from you to help find these deserving people. Please look over the descriptions of the awards below and send in your recommendations to the PTSA Awards and Recognition Committee. The Awards Committee will make the final decision based on your recommendations.

Golden Acorn: The Golden Acorn is the highest honor given to a PTSA volunteer in recognition of outstanding service to all children in the school community (not just an individual who has donated time to help his/her child’s class) or a staff member. It is to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description.

Bobcat Award for Outstanding PTSA Volunteer: This award is given to s volunteer who is always there to help with various projects and provide support on all levels. (They do not need to be a committee team leader.)

Bobcat Award for Outstanding PTSA Committee Work: This award is given to a committee team leader who has improved a PTSA committee in a very positive way.

Honorary Lifetime Member: The purpose of the WSPTA Honorary Life Membership Award is to honor an individual who has made significant contributions to the development and growth of Twain PTSA.

Outstanding Educator: The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes individuals who go beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging. This award enables the PTSA to recognize innovative and successful individuals. The enthusiasm and diversity that an educator brings to the classroom directly influences the success of a student.

Other Awards: A number of other awards and recognitions are given to PTSA volunteers and those who support our children. These may include: Rookie of the Year, Top School Spirit, Outstanding Staff Member. There is no set limit or definition on the number or type of awards that may be given.
