Firstly I would like to thank everybody who helped make this first race in memory of Andrew a success, all my helpers who I have named below and all the riders who entered. A little slow on promotion from my side left the numbers a little lower than I had hoped but please spread the word for next year, hopefully I can secure the same weekend. I always try to put on a good prize fund which this year was £210 plus the 3 main trophies and the 9 keepsake trophies! I will be increasing this next year if the numbers are higher! Apologies the main trophies weren’t ready! I will contact the 3 winners and arrange a presentation with some photos when they are done.

I think Andrew was looking down on us with regard to the weather and I would have liked to have spoken a little more about Andrew and his family and what affect it has had on mine and probably a lot of other people’s lives, but I know I would have struggled to hold it together, I only just managed it anyway!!

Well done to everybody with some great rides done.

The 1st ‘Andrew Ridsdale Memorial Race 2013’

Andrew was participating in our open event on 18th March 2012 when he was struck by a vehicle from behind resulting in the tragic loss of his life.

It was from conversations with Andrews friends and family that proceeds from that event and our subsequent event in September, we would put the proceeds to trophies in his honour.

We have commissioned 3 trophies - Fastest, Handicap and Vets on standard. These will be engraved each year with the winner’s time and name. The winners of each trophy will also receive a small trophy to keep.
