PROCEDURE:BUMP TESTING & CALIBRATION; USING BW MICRODOCK II

SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

Safety Glasses with side shields, hard hat, steel toe boots, FR Clothing and personal gas monitor.

SAFETY NOTE:

Bump test gas is not designed for instrument calibration. To ensure an accurate calibration, use certified calibration gas.

PROCEDURE:

1.Turn the Gas Alert Micro ON (allow the instrument to stabilize for approximately 5 minutes).

2.Turn on the Micro Dock II.

3.Open the security lid on the docking station.

4.Install the instrument face down and insert the battery end first.

5.Close the security lid over the Gas Alert Micro.

6.The docking station should acknowledge the Gas Alert Micro and display the serial number. If the docking station does not acknowledge the Gas Alert Micro, remove the Gas Alert Micro from the docking station and repeat Steps 4 and 5.

TO BUMP TEST:

1 .With the instrument installed in the docking station, PRESS and RELEASE the BUMP BUTTON on the docking station.

2.VVhen the bump test is complete, the GREEN light will acknowledge a pass and a RED light will acknowledge a fail.

3.The display on the docking station will also state PASS or FAIL.

4.Once the instrument has PASSED, remove it from the docking station; reset the STEL alarms on your Gas Alert Micro by pressing the BLUE and UP arrow (diagonal) until you hear a double beep.

TO CALIBRATE (OR IF A GAS ALERT MICRO FAILS THE BUMP TEST):

1 .Remove the Gas Alert Micro from the docking station and place it back into the docking station (please refer to Steps 4 and 5 above).

2.PRESS and RELEASE the calibration button.

3.When the calibration is complete, the GREEN light will acknowledge a PASS and a RED light will acknowledge a FAIL.

4.The display on the docking station will also state PASS or FAIL.

5.Once the Gas Alert Micro has passed the calibration, it can be returned into service.

6.If the unit FAILS calibration it should be removed from service and sent to an authorized BW technician.
