Problem Solving and Decision Making

Problem Solving & Decision Making

You may find it hard to choose the words that best characterize your learning style. Nevertheless, keep in mind that there are no right or wrong answers – all the choices are equally acceptable. The aim of the inventory is to describe how you learn, not to evaluate your learning ability.

Be sure to assign a different rank number to each

of the four words in each set; do not make ties.

How to score your Learning Style Inventory

The four columns of words on the inventory correspond to the four learning style scales.

From left to right, they are: Concrete Experience (CE), Reflective Observation (RO), Abstract Conceptualization (AC), and Active Experimentation (AE). To compute your scale scores, write your rank numbers in the boxes below only for the numbers in the designated rows.

For Example In the third column (AC) you would write the rank numbers you have assigned to items 2+3+4+5+8+9.

Compute your scale score by adding the rank numbers for each set of boxes.

2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 7 / 8 / 1 / 3 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 8 / 9 / 1 / 3 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9
CE = ______ / RO = ______ / AC = ______ / AE = ______

AC = Abstract Conceptualization

AE = Active Experimentation

  1. Connect your scores to form a kite.
