Job Title: EC Summer Camp Kingdom Educator
Supervisor: EC Summer Camp Director

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting to the EC Summer Camp Director, the Kingdom Educator will strive to see that there is no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth (3 John 4) by pointing the students to Christ as he/she teaches through the established summer camp curriculum helping students find and pursue their God-given callings and have fun in the process.

  • Passionate about living out his/her calling through the Christian education of our children
  • Eager to serve in a Christian learning environment, modeling Christ-likeness through his/her diligence, perseverance, resilience, patience, courage and Christian discipleship
  • In agreement with the WCCS Statement of Faith and Ends/Mission Statement as found on the WCCS website ( on the About Us / Mission and Beliefs page
  • A member in good standing at a local evangelical church
  • Committed to the goal of giving a good report with regards to the school and community and determined to live out the biblical principles of reconciliation spelled out in Matthew 18 when disagreement arises

QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Faithful in serving in a summer atmosphere of fun, play, and learning while using lesson plans, materials provided, and own skills to provide a Christian education marked by the biblical integration of faith and academic content
  • Dedicated to excellence in classroom instruction holding to a high standard of developmentally appropriate practice while meeting the various needs of individual students
  • Purposeful in providing a safe, inviting, interactive and well-managed classroom environment that meets DSS regulations
  • Devoted to excellent communication and understands the importance of effectiveand professional communication with various constituents such as faculty/staff, administration, students, and parents
  • Committed to maintaining the appropriate degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Supportive of the whole WCCS community and works collaboratively in team-oriented environments with parents, students, fellow teachers, and administrators

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Kingdom Educator Co-Teacher - Must have at least a high school diploma or state equivalency certificate
  • Previous experience in a Christian school and/or training in biblical integration is preferred, but not required
  • A state/nationally recognized Child Development competency credential if preferred, but not required
  • DSS certification is preferred, but not required. WCCS will facilitate meeting these requirements if hired

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Arrives on time to welcome campers and parents to the classroom
  • Teachesweekly assigned themes and lessons which are provided
  • Works with individuals and groups of students
  • Provides a safe, fun, summer experience for students where Jesus’ love is seen and experienced
  • Supervises students in indoor and outdoor activities
  • Maintains a clean and orderly classroom environment
  • Other duties as assigned by the summer camp director
