HICKORY GIS DUCT BANK

TO:PROSPECTIVE PROPOSERS AND PLAN HOLDERS

The Plans and Specifications for RFP 6416CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR HICKORY GIS DUCT BANK shall be modified as follows:

Item 1EXHIBIT 0 - RFP 6416 Main, 6. CONTRACT TERM, add the following

1)The City of Denton will commence paving of Hickory Street within the area of work on October 16, 2017. Work for the DME HICKORY GIS DUCT BANK shall be substantially completed prior to this date.

Item 2EXHIBIT 1 - RFP 6416 Pricing Sheet for CONSTRUCTION OF HICKORY SUB UNDERGROUND TRANSMISSION LINE DUCT BANK

2)Replace with the attached revised Exhibit 1. Distribution Duct Bank work has been added to the project.

Item 3 EXHIBIT 3 – DME HICKORY GIS DUCT BANK

1)Add the follow to the Exhibit 3 – Technical Specifications, I Special Contract Requirements and Price Item Descriptions, B. Price Items

Item D-06 Duct Bank Conduit (Distribution)

General: This item includes the cost of furnishing and installing the conduit system for the distribution duct bank for this project. The conduit system includes six (6) six inch Schedule 40 PVC conduits, two (2) four inch Schedule 40 PVC conduits for the 3x3 duct bank, and conduit extensions and terminations at existing pole. The conduit system includes four (4) four inch Schedule 40 PVC conduits and one (1) four inch Schedule 40 PCV conduit for the 2x2 duct bank. Also included are all required conduit spacers and all other material to properly secure the duct bank to the ground. This item also includes all excavation, backfill, shoring and all other construction activities required to open up the trench and provide complete restoration in accordance with all applicable permits and government regulations. Duct Bank Concrete shall not be included within this item, see Item D-07 Duct Bank Concrete (Distribution).

Payment: Payment for this item shall be at the contract unit price for duct bank conduit based on per linear foot of trench measured along the centerline of trench.

Item D-07 Duct Bank Concrete (Distribution)

General: This item includes furnishing and installing approved concrete as backfill within the trench for the width and depth as shown on the drawings and specified within the technical specifications.

Payment: Payment for this item shall be at the contract unit price for duct bank concrete (distribution) based on per linear foot of trench measured along the centerline of trench.

Item D-088’ Wide Concrete Sidewalk, Accessibility Ramps, and Driveways

General: This item includes the cost of furnishing and installation 8’ wide sidewalk, accessibility ramps, reinforced concrete driveways, and reinforced concrete curb and gutter associated with the distribution duct bank improvements. The improvements shall be in accordance with the City of Denton Standard drawings, NCTCOG specifications and City amendments to the NCTCOG Specifications sections 301, 303 and 305. All necessary equipment, labor, and materials shall be included within this item to complete the improvements.

Payment: Payment for this item shall be at the contract unit price per square yard of concrete sidewalk, accessibility ramps, and driveways complete and in place.Linear footage of concrete curb and gutter restoration shall be considered subsidiary to the work.

2)Add the follow to the Exhibit 3 – Technical Specifications, II Special Contract Requirements for Duct Banks

-The Distribution Duct Bank work shall follow the general construction requirements and general testing requirements of Section II unless otherwise determined by the Owner.

-Distribution Duct Bank materials shall conform to the following:

  • Conduit, couplings, and collars shall be Schedule 40 PVC, Cantex or Heritage
  • Elbows shall be Schedule 40 PVC, Heritage
  • Spacers, base and appurtenances shall be Carlon

-Concrete for the distribution duct bank shall be 3000 psi concrete with same mix design as the transmission line thermal concrete but does not require thermal testing.

Item4EXHIBIT 4–DME HICKORY GIS DUCT BANK

1)Add Sheets C1-06, C1-07, and City Standard Drawings for Sidewalk details and Asphalt Paving details.

2)Sheet C1-03, replace parking lot restoration note with the following:

“RESTORE EXISTING PARKING LOT AND DRIVEWAYS WITH 8” THICK REINFORCED CONCRETE PAVING OVER 6” LIME STABILIZATION. REINFORCEMENT TO BE #4 BARS AT 18” ON CENTER AND BOTH WAYS FOR PARKING LOT. DRIVEWAY REINFORCEMENT PER CITY STANDARDS. PROVIDESAWCUT JOINTS AT 20’ SPACING BOTHWAYS FOR THE PARKING LOT. SAWCUT AT DRIVEWAYS PER CITY STANDARDS.”

Item 5CLARIFICATIONS

1)Traffic Control

-Traffic Control Plan must be submitted prior to the Pre-Construction Meeting, including details for road closures for thru traffic.

-Maintain access for driveways that are sole access for residence on Avenue H and driveway at approximate Station 4+75 Transmission Duct Bank on Hickory Street.

-Place door hangers for adjoining residences prior to construction activities that will impact residences.

2)Staking will be provided by the Owner.

3)Proposed water and sewer line improvements for Hickory Street have been completed.

4)5 Degree couplings will not be allowed for the transmission line duct bank.

5)Two concrete test will be required for the thermal concrete used for the transmission line duct bank. See specifications for requirements for each test. Two concrete test will be required for the concrete used for the distribution duct bank.

6)The 2-sack concrete backfill shown on the plans is flowable fill with an approximate compressive strength of 150 psi.

7)Bell direction for the transmission line duct bank will be confirmed at the Pre-Construction meeting.

8)For the project work hours Monday through Friday are 7 am to 6 pm. Saturday work hours are 8 am to 3 pm. Sunday work requires a special preapproved work permit by the City.

9)Thermal backfill can be native material unless otherwise noted.

All other items and provisions of the contract documents not modified herein shall remain the same.

THIS ADDENDUM IS MADE PART OF THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SHALL BE ACKNOWLEDGED ON THE PROPOSAL.
