Physics in Action Trip
On Monday 5 December we shall be taking our Year 12 and Year 13 students to Physics in Action to the Institute of Education, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1H 0AL. The event runs from 11.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. and consists of five sessions of phenomenal physics:
- Big Bang (Simon Singh)
- Physics of the Rock Guitar (Mark Lewney)
- Formula E Racing Teams
- Exploring the Invisible Universe (Jen Gupta)
- How to build a Quantum Computer (NicHarrigan)
There will also be a special session on examination success at A level Physics.
We will leave Rickmansworth School at 9.00 a.m. and take the Underground to the event, returning to Rickmansworth Underground Station where students can be collected around 5.00 p.m. Students should bring drinks and a packed lunch with them. The cost of the trip including transport is £34.00.
If you wish your son/daughter to attend this event, please complete the slip overleaf and return it to Mr K Watson by Monday 7 November. Payment should also be made by this date.

Having read and understood the details of the visit as set out in the letter of 31 October 2016, I would like my child to take part in the Physics In Action trip.
I acknowledge the need for my son/daughter to behave responsibly and agree to the School’s procedures in this respect. Although the staff of the School escorting the party will exercise due care and attention they cannot necessarily be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury which may befall my child named above during or out of the journey and visit.
I understand that upon return to School my child will no longer be under the authority of the School and my child is aware of the arrangements for getting home.
I understand that I must update the School Office if there are any changes to the medical situation of my son/daughter.
