ROLE SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Job Title: / National Road Policing Intelligence Forum (NRPIF) Analyst

Reporting to: / National Road Policing Intelligence Forum Deputy
Specific Role Purpose: / As part of the National Roads Policing Intelligence Forum the post-holder will carry out strategic and operational analysis work in line with the NPCC Roads Policing priorities. This work will ensure resources are focussed on key priorities outlined in the national calendar of operations
Key Responsibilities: /
  • To undertake all analytical functions for the National Roads Intelligence Forum in relation to the preparation of informative Intelligence and Analytical products, for all issues, in accordance with nationally agreed principles
  • To assist in current intelligence operations by researching, analysing and collating information from all relevant sources, and providing researched recommendations to senior management teams
  • To develop and maintain knowledge of current intelligence and information together with the crime trends and patterns relevant to all forces
  • To support the NRPIF deputy in coordinating national roads policing enforcement campaigns
  • To assist in the development of intelligence collection plans to ensure the effective communication of these to Police and partner agencies
  • Prepare briefing notes and deliver clear presentations where appropriate ensuring that the medium used is suitable for the audience
  • To conduct strategic analysis and produce Strategic Assessments for NRPIF
  • To liaise with staff across all forces and partner agencies to obtain and/or disseminate information, and actively participate in meetings
  • Assist in the development of internal and external partnerships to ensure effective working relationships are cultivated
  • To support with the planning, and management of NRPIF & strategic governance meeting, events and workshops deputising where required
  • Provide support to Head of NRPIF & staff in organising events, workshops and meetings deputising where required
  • Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the forum
  • To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required

SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE
Knowledge & Experience
This section should detail the requirement of previous experiences and knowledge gained from academic qualifications if appropriate. e.g. significant experience of administrative duties, degree level educated.
Essential: /
  • Awareness of the National Road Policing strategy, current issues and challenges
  • Experience of understanding environmental analysis, researching strategic issues and strategy formulation
  • Articulate and be able to discuss and negotiate complex and difficult issues
  • Must be proficient in Windows computer software particularly Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have excellent presentation skills
  • Previous analytical experience. Having attained a basic analyst practitioner qualification from a law enforcement agency

Desirable: /
  • Experience of relevant analytical tools such as Geospatial Intelligence Systems and iBase
  • Experience of data visualisation and associated techniques
  • Evidence a good understanding of the requirements of the National Intelligence Model, together with the tasking and coordination process.
  • Experience and confidence in using social media

Hours of Work and Flexibility: / 36.5 hours a week on the Flexi Hours Scheme, generally between 08:00-18:30 Monday – Friday
