OPQC has developed a collection of resource materials for patients and providers relating to various perinatal health topics, including preterm birth, progesterone, maternal addiction, and drug dependence in infants. All resources below are available on the OPQC website to distribute for free. Preterm Birth and Prevention / Babies born preterm, before 37 weeks of pregnancy, can experience major health problems and lifelong disabilities. Preterm birth is also the leading cause of infant death in Ohio. While anyone can have a preterm birth, some women are at greater risk. Birth Registry Accuracy / The Integrated Perinatal Health Information System (IPHIS) is Ohio’s birth registry and is the most extensive perinatal data base in Ohio. Information accuracy is essential to make IPHIS information trustworthy enough to be used for these important health care decisions.
