PAGEANT RULES AND GUIDELINES

Little Miss/Mr San Antonio Pageant

No experience is necessary to enter. Our number one goal is to create a memorable day for you and your family.

We will rehearse with your child before the pageant on pageant day so they are comfortable with the stage. After they sign in they are welcome to view and walk on stage before the pageant. We encourage them to just be themselves and we will reward them with self esteem and confidence.

Each contestant will come up on stage and smile. Children ages birth-4 may have a parent on stage with them. All we want is for everybody to have a great time. There will be one winner and two runners up in each age division. Everyone will come home with a small prize however.

Mail your applications early! Age groups may be divided if they are too large by the deadline date.

ENTRY FEE:

The entry fee is $50 paid by May 15th. (meaning we have fees in hand) You may pay fees on our website using a credit card or electronic check. Allow 10 days for check to clear online. On pageant day cash only will be accepted for optionals fees, admission tickets ($1). Or mail in your check or money order to pageant office.

OPTIONALS FEES:

You do not have to enter the optionals in order to win the title. These are just extras in which you can win awards.

Optionals are Best Dressed, Best Hair and Smile. All three for $10.

Miss/Mr Photogenic fees are $20. $5 each additional photo.

Congeniality Optional Contest is FREE

Cover Miss/Mr is $50 and an optional contest. Deadline to enter is April 1st.

CHECK-IN INFORMATION:

All contestants must be checked in by a parent or legal guardian anytime between 2 and 4pm on the day of the pageant. Photogenic photos must be mailed in this year. DO NOT bring them to the pageant. Send it (or them) in with fees and entry form before deadline in May. Your contestant badge will be mailed to you on day of pageant. The contestant does not need to be present at check-in. If you have paid your entry fees using your credit card via our online system, you must bring your receipt with you to check-in. We do not take entry fees at the door. Pageant starts promptly at 5pm.

AGE DIVISIONS

Baby Miss: birth-23 months

Wee Miss: 2-3

Tiny Miss: 4-5 years

Little Miss: 6-7 years

Young Miss: 8-9 years

Junior Miss: 10-12 years

Teen Miss: 13-15 years

Baby Mister: birth-23 months

Wee Mister: 24 months-3 years

Little Mister: 4-7 years

Young Mister: 8-12 years

Teen Mister: 13-15 years

PAGEANT JUDGING GUIDELINES:

Contestants will be judged on stage in formal wear (full length for ages 8+) and casual wear at the competition. All formal wear, no Sunday outfits. Boys must wear a suit or tux. Girls a formal gown. Contestants ages 4 and up will recite an onstage introduction in their formal wear.

Props are not acceptable (hats, gloves, glasses, etc.). They will be judged 1-10 on beauty, stage presence, personality and attire by a panel of judges. This is a natural beauty pageant so no make-up allowed on any contestand under the age of 6 years. Contestants age 8 and up may wear age appropriate make-up such as light lip gloss (not lipstick), mascara and blush. Doing otherwise will result in losing points.

OPTIONAL CATEGORIES:

The optional categories are not required for overall title. Just an extra way to win another prize in their age division.

Photogenic: Mail in Photos. They will be returned after the pageant. Photos must be 5x7 or 8x10 color or black and white. They do not have to be professional shots. Please mark each photo on the back with name and age division.

Will be judged on all areas of the photography. Criteria includes basis of photographic beauty, captured personality or mood, composition and design of photograph and the ability of the contestant to show her true self in the image.

Cover Miss/Mr: Mail in entry. Based on facial beauty of contestant. May be glitzy or natural. However no overly heavy makeup please. Photos Mailed in for judging must have name and age on back of photo.

Only 2 photos (2 separate contestants) will be selected as winners to grace the front and inside cover of our program book. 5x7 or 8x10 color photos. No Black and White please. $50 to enter.

Best Hair, Dressed and Smile: Judged while onstage during formal and casual wear competitions. One winner each per age category.

Congeniality: One overall winner judged during course of entire pageant. The person who is the most personable on and off the stage, works well with others, enjoys what they are doing. No fee to enter.

PRIZES:

All contestants will receive a prize for participating. There will be one winner and two alternates in each age group. The title winner will receive a satin embroidered sash and tiara and rose bouquet and the 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a ribbon sash. Little Mr and Young Mister winners will receive a satin, embroidered sash and small trophy and small gift.

Photogenic winners will receive a sash, and a one year modeling contract with Professional Models and Talent a licensed and bonded agency in San Antonio.

Best Dressed, Hair and Smile will receive a ribbon sash and certificate.

Cover Miss/Mr will receive 2 program books, ribbon sash and the honor of being on the cover of our program book.

Congeniality will receive a ribbon sash and a Home Court America Membership for entire family.

ON PAGEANT DAY:

1.  Casual Wear—The judges will be instructed to consider the contestant, not just the outfit or physical appearance. Appropriateness of the garment, grooming, poise, beauty, over-all-self confidence and personality in the selection will be considered.

Rules—Age appropriate clothing is required. Pageant judges have the final decision whether an outfit is appropriate or not. Decision is final. Modeling pattern will have one start and one stop…we will show you day of the pageant.

2.  Party/Formal Wear—The judges will be instructed to consider the contestant…not just the outfit or physical appearance. Appropriateness of garment, grooming, poise, beauty, over-all self confidence and personality in the selection will be considered.

TICKETS:

Admission tickets are $1 per person. Payable at the door.

PHOTOGRAPHS:

A photographer will be on hand to take photographs of the event. Packages can be purchased the day of the event. You can do this during check-in. NO camera’s are allowed inside or to be used during the pageant. This also applies to camera phones. We apologize for the inconvenience. No exceptions

VIDEOGRAPHY:

DVD’S WILL BE SOLD OF THE NIGHT’S EVENT FOR A LOW COST. DETAILS AVAILABLE IN MARCH.
