The Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS) programme is designed for students from a Neso country who want to study in the Netherlands. OTS is a promotional tool that supports and adds value to the generic Study in Holland (SiH) promotion. It allows Dutch higher education institutions (DHEIs) to focus on certain countries with their promotional efforts.

In order to be eligible for OTS, candidates must be citizens of the Neso country and should currently not be studying or working in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities Nesos:

  • Generic promotion of the scholarship programme (online and offline);
  • Provide adequate orientation and counselling services for local students who are interested in the Orange Tulip Scholarship programme;
  • Contact and update DHEIs on the process;
  • Eligibility check applicants (only proof of being in the process of admission);
  • Provide the DHEIs with a list of registered students after the application deadline;
  • Notify the scholarship results and inform scholarship applicants of the results;
  • Organise an awarding ceremony for the selected applicants;
  • Provide the DHEIs an evaluation report after the awarding ceremony;

Responsibility DHEIs:

  • Provide all the necessary information (a clear scholarship description, including concrete application information) for promoting the scholarships through the signed OTS participation form;
  • Appoint a contact person for the Nesos and EP-Nuffic;
  • Decisions concerning acceptance of students and the nomination of students for the scholarship (meet the deadline for notification);
  • Help promoting the scholarships through direct contact with prospective students, on the website, etc.;
  • Contact and help the selected students with their preparations to come to the Netherlands;
  • Fulfil the obligations that the total value of the offered scholarship will be delivered to the selected student;
  • Deliver the sponsorship directly to the selected students in money or in kind;

Timeline:
