Subject: - Opening of Offices during the last week of the March, 2013 -regarding

Attention of the Trade and Industry is invited towards the letter F.No 296/42/2013-CX.9 dated 15.03.2013 issued from the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, CBEC, New Delhi regarding opening of offices during the last week of the March, 2013. As you are aware, the bulk of the revenue is received at the end of the month. However, during the last week of this month, there are a number of holidays. In this regard, the Department has proposed to the department of Financial Services to issue instructions to have the banks open for longer hours on 26th, 28th and 30th March, 2013 so that the collections of revenue and the efforts of the two departments are reflected appropriately. It has also been proposed to have the banks opened for at least half day on the above holidays and on 31st March (Sunday). As a special measure, all the Central Excise offices of Meerut-I Commissionerate would remain opened on 29th, 30th & 31st March, 2013. Accordingly, all Trade Associations/Chambers of Commerce, Member of Regional Advisory Committee (SSI Sector, Organized and Service Tax Sector) and field formations are requested to bring the contents of this Trade Notice to the knowledge of their constituent members and all concerned.
