Oh yes, there were squeals of great delight!

With a special gift for the children dear!

Then I just threw him on the floor

I snuck down to see the broken nutcracker instead.

For most of them by now had dropped.

And threw her slipper which was large.

And his many followers feared him dead.

The Nutcracker become a handsome prince!

Where dancing sugar plums were ready with treats!

More dancers appeared to entertain
Sam Burchill / Avery Drinker / A Russian group of dancers took their place
And danced for us with energy and grace

With beautiful dresses they came to play

They danced for us both shy and coy

They lightened up the atmosphere
