PRELIMINARY NOTES

Description of power distribution boards up to 5000 A

Sheet steel enclosed power distribution and motor control centres shall be delivered as

"Design-verified low-voltage switchgear and control gear assembly"

in multiple-cabinet design suitable forside-by-side or

back-to-backarrangement or over a corner, pre-wired ready for connection.

The following descriptions shall form an integral part of the calculations and of the contract.

They need to be taken into account in the descriptions of individual switchgear systems and of the operating materials, even if they are not mentioned again in detail.

Technical data for power distribution boards up to 5000 A

Power distribution boards need to be design-verified at least for

Basic description of all distribution sections

The frame of all distribution sections shall be of a torsion-resistent profile-steel construction made of 2 mm steel profiles electrolytically galvanized, with an internal grid-hole pattern of
25 mm according to DIN 43 660 and with sheet-steel panelling on all sides.

All external cover panels need to be removable, must be made of 1.5 mm electrolytically galvanized sheet steel and come in

O RAL 7035 light-grey

structure powder-coated with a layer thickness of > = 50 µm.

All structural parts for carrying internal equipment need to be

Sendzimir-galvanized and shall feature a 25 mm grid-hole pattern according to DIN 43 660.

For main busbars,a separate functional area needs to be planned in the rear of the distribution sections.

It must be possible to install 2 main busbar systems.

Cable connection shall be done in a separate cable connection area, where all “live“ connection points shall be covered or insulated with an IP20degree of protection.

The setup of all distribution sections shall generally, and depending on the degree of protection, include the following elements:

- Rear panel, ventilated

- Cover panel, closed

- Internal separation according to IEC 61 439Form 2

- Side panels at add-on sections on the left and right

- Add-on connection kits

- Main busbars with transport separations

- Removable transport lifting eyebolts

- Labels for switchgear and “switching“sections

- Cable and wire connection systems

- Doors with a rod-lock, 4-point locking mechanism

and clip-down handle, locking with a 3 mm two-way key-bit

- The opening angle of the door shall be 180°for single cabinets,

170° for add-on cabinets

Conformity and test certificates

This document mainly refers to the international IEC standards. The regulations defined therein must be fully complied with. National standards that meet the requirements of conformity are listed in the table below:

Proof of compliance with the following requirements needs to be provided individually throughconformity and test certificates:

- Proof of design verification according to IEC 61 439through

connections in the switchgear and controlgear assembly

Before dispatching it, the distribution cabinet shall be subject to a detailed inspection, evidence of which shall be submitted to the purchaser.

Equipment to be installed, setup, arrangement

Equipment to be installed, setup and arrangement of the sections shall meet the requirements of the following documents:

O Elevation plan

O Floor plan

O Overview of the circuit diagram

O Base-plinth for all the sections described hereafter, made of
sheet steel, powder-coated in RAL7035,

light-grey, with removable front, side and rear covers. The plinth
shall be suitable for direct transportation with the adequate aids.

All main busbar systems in the end section shall be expandable and include transport separations from section to section.

Dropper bar systems for fixed design module sections and switch-fuse sections shall be made of flat copper with a fitting kit for distribution sections, connections to main busbar systems, PE(N) and N-bars on the side of the connection area.

Busbar connections to circuit breakers or load disconnectors shall be provided:

1. As connection bars:

From a circuit breaker or load disconnector to a cable connection
system in section width with connection bolts up to 4000A as flat
bars, as well as connection bolts for the PE(N) and N bar.

2. As busbar couplers:

From a circuit breaker or load disconnector to a second busbar
system.

The setup of the switchgear shall be carried out according to the EMC Directive.

Documentation

The distribution board system shall be documented in accordance with the IEC 617 standard. It shall include circuit diagrams, terminal diagrams, plans and views to scale, floor plans and parts lists.

The drawings shall be submitted for information and approval purposes beforemanufacture and construction.

Building the switchgear system may only be started based on

approved circuit diagrams.

Documentation shall be submitted in 4 copies in the A4 format. The document on final inspections shall additionally be submitted on data carriers in a format yet to be agreed.

The EEC certificate of conformity shall be submitted in addition to the delivery documents, so as to certify the compliance with the EEC Low-voltage Directive 73 / 23 and the EMC Directive 89 / 336 of the EEC.

Scope of delivery

The distribution board shall be delivered assembled, wired ready-to-connectto block-terminals, tested for small consumers up to 16 mm² and control lines, and packed in suitable transport units on pallets.

System-related linking and connecting material shall be included in the scope of delivery.
