NOTICE FROM SHASTA COUNTY REGISTRAR OF VOTERS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Shasta County Registrar of Voters will hold an election on TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2014, and that offices for which candidates may file papers to be voted upon are as follows:

To view qualifications for each office please review the 2014 Candidate Guide at elections.co.shasta.ca.us.These positions may be elected to or nominated to run in the Statewide Direct General Election on November 4, 2014.

Qualified candidates can obtain official forms from our office. Candidates must file papers with the Shasta County Registrar of Voters starting at 8am Monday, February 10, 2014, and ending at 5 pm, Friday, March 7, 2014.Our office is located at 1643 Market Street, Redding, CA, in the southeast corner of the Market Street Promenade. If an incumbent does not file a declaration of candidacy by the deadline, any person, other than the incumbent, has until 5 pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, to file as a candidate. This extension does not apply when there is no incumbent.

If, by March 12, 2014, no one or only one person filesa declaration of candidacy for an office, or an insufficient number of persons have filed for offices in districts containing multiple offices, and a petition has not been presented to the Registrar of Voters, a person may request that the supervising authority appoint the person or persons who have filed declarations of candidacy for that office.If no one has filed a declaration of candidacy for an office, the supervising authority appoints a qualified person on Election Day. The appointed person qualifies and takes office as if elected.See Elections Code §10515.
