North Carolina Immunizations Requirements and Exemptions

North Carolina state law (General Statute 130A-155.1) requires anyone entering college to present a certificate of immunization that documents their compliance with all required immunizations.
The statute applies to all college and university students, except:
¨ Students registered in distance-learning courses only
¨ Students attending classes scheduled at 5:00 pm or later only
¨ Students enrolled in weekend classes only
¨ Students enrolled in four (4) credit hours or less per semester
If at any time, the above student status changes to: on-campus courses, course load of more than four credit hours, on-campus residence, and/or enrollment in day-time courses, a certificate or record of immunization must be presented on or before the date the person first registers for a semester. If the exempt student transfers, interrupts study for six (6) months or more, or graduates, the statute is applicable upon re-entry to a college or university.
Students will be WITHDRAWN FROM THE UNIVERSITY 30 days after classes begin if immunization requirements have not been met and the Immunization and Medical History information have not been received by Campus Health Services staff.
