February 2010 Newsletter

News from the committee:

Welcome back we hope you have all had a safe and restful summer. If you haven’t ridden your pony very much over the summer please make sure you don’t expect too much from it this rally. We often see ponies tying up or developing colic when they are asked to work hard straight from a rest. Just like us they need exercise to stay fit.

This rally we will be starting practices for the team games, flat and musical ride event in April. I know of a couple of teams already practicing, we would like to see as many riders as possible riding in a team or teams this year. New Pony Club rules will allow riders to compete in both games and musical teams.

We have 3 riders competing at State dressage and show jumping next weekend in Sale. Congratulations and good luck to Saxon Marvin Grade 3 Dressage, Pauline Hartz B Grade Show Jumping and Paige Cartwright C Grade Show Jumping.

Well done to all involved in the Horse trails last November we managed to make a very healthy profit and we will be using some of the money to purchase a dressage arena for use on the new sand area and we will also put some aside towards some new show jumping equipment.

Don’t forget our March Gymkhana and Show Jumping event is fast approaching so we will be asking for volunteers during lunch this Sunday. Sue Hollins has kindly offered the chair the event committee again and we thank her for her continued support to the club, her assistance and experience is invaluable.

C Cert Candidates

Don’t forget to bring your work books this Sunday.
