2016 Show Rules

RULES FOR ENTRY

  1. All owners of Pintos must show proof of PtHA membership and status (AM/Nov/Youth) and Pt HA number must be included with entry form. Non-members will be required to fill out on-site membership and pay full PtHA fee to enter this show.
  2. All Pintos entering this show must be registered with the PtHA or have a current Temporary Conditional. Registration.
  3. All Pintos entered in this show must have a 12 month Negative Coggins OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOW
  4. There is a 20% discount for pre-entry by deadline specified. Photocopy of coggins, PtHA Membership Card, Registration Papers (front and back if applicable) or Conditional Registration Certificate and all fees must be included with entry for each Pinto pre-entered. Post entered Pintos must have proof of registration at time of entry. Once copies are filed with show office you do not have to provide these papers for each show.
  5. It is the owner/exhibitors responsibility to see that all information provided is correct and complete at the time you enter this show. Incorrect information may result in loss of points
  6. Pre-entries with all required attachments and all fees owed including stall fee) must be received postmarked seven (7) days prior to date of show (Postal Meter Marks Unacceptable). If attachments are not included with pre-entry form no discount will be allowed. Discount does not include stall, camper, PtHA office fees.
  7. Pre-entries must check into the office before their entries will be placed on the class list.
  8. All ponies and minis must present a current measurement are or be measures at the show.
  9. You will be assigned one (1) back number for the year. It will be your responsibility to keep this number for the entire show year. Only NJ Pinto numbers will be uses. Every horse and rider combination (except open classes) will have a separate back number.
  10. Exhibitors are to at the In Gate Arena (1) class prior to the class in which they are entered. There will be a one minute call prior to the closing of the gate in each class. Scratched classes are to be reported to Show Office 2 classes prior. A $3 fee will be charged for any NO SHOW.
  11. All requests for tack changes are to be submitted to the Show Secretary at time of entry, so they can be noted in the announcer’s schedule. A minimum of two (2) classes prior to the class which change is requested will be permitted. Back to back classes that require tack change will have a five (5) minute time limit.
  12. Correct entry number must be worn in all classes or entry will be disqualified at the discretion of the judge
  13. Stallions may not show in any Youth class. Handlers of stallions must be 14 years of age or over (this includes foals of the current year).
  14. The show committee reserves the right to cancel or combine any classes with less than three (3) entries.
  15. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current PtHA Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.
  16. Refunds will be permitted for Veterinarian Excused Entries. A signed excuse from a Veterinarian must be received prior to the close of the show or postmarked within (4) days of the close of the show. All requests for refund, other than Veterinarian excuse, will be reviewed by show committee and their decision is final as to acceptance or refusal of excuse, but above listed time restrictions must be followed in filing request. There will be no refunds for scratched or missed classes.
  17. All owners listed on Pinto Registration papers must be members of Pinto Nationals and New Jersey Pinto to receive any award.
  18. Membership dues must be paid prior to having any club privileges and earning horse show points
  19. Only those members in good standing are eligible to earn year end awards
  20. To be eligible for yearend awards, a member must show in a particular class (of their choice) at a majority of the New Jersey Pinto Shows held during the year. For example, if there are 12 judges in a show year, each judge counts as one show. A majority of the shows would require that you show under 8 judges for a year that has 12 judges total. Classes that are combined at a majority of the shows will receive Year-End Awards as a combined class. No class with less than three (3) entries will receive points except Novice Amateur which can have (2) entries per class.
  21. The following point system is used to tabulate points for yearend awards.

  1. Grand Champion receives 4 points. Reserve Champion received 3 points. No class with less than (3) entries will receive a point.
  2. A completed sponsorship form must be submitted prior to earning horse show points towards year end awards. There are (2) ways you can fulfill your sponsorship: (1) a business card ad (2) sponsoring a class at one of the horse shows. You only need to fulfill one of the above. If you sponsor a class at one of the horse shows or submit a business card ad to place on the website and facebook, the fee is $25.00. Family members showing more than one horse need only submit one sponsorship. Please make sure the sponsorship form is filled out in its entirety.

Stall Rules

Stalls will be assigned on a first paid basis. Stalls will be tagged with exhibitors name and no one is to change stalls. Anyone who reserves stalls and does not show will be required to pau for their stalls in advance the next time they reserve stalls. Anyone using a stall will be charged a full stall fee. In case stalls have been reserved and then cancelled, the show secretary must be notified 72 hours in advance of the show that the stalls are being cancelled or else they will be responsible to pay for those stalls. Stalls will be tagged with the exhibitors name on Thursday before the show. Please call and reserve your stall, camper and shavings PRIOR to that Thursday.

DISCLAIMER RULE

The owner and/or exhibitor and his/her representatives, including the agent and/or trainer signing the entry form below, do hereby agree to hold NJPtHA, the horse show, it’s officials, officers, directors, agents and employees harmless from and against any and all damage or loss that may occur to the horses exhibited or to any vehicle or property sent with such horse and agree not to make any claim therefore against any of them, whether directly or indirectly. Each signatory for himself/herself and all persons who might claim through them or are in an way connected with them does further agree to indemnify and hold directors, agents and employees from and against any and all claims, loss, liability, damages, costs or expenses, including counsel fees and expenses occasioned by claims or actions for property damage and/or personal injury, including death resulting therefore, arising out of or in any way connected to NJPtHA, whether caused by the act or failure to act, whether willful or negligent, of themselves or anyone in their employ or subject to their control, or caused by any horse, vehicle or other article exhibited by them, or whether caused by negligent, gross negligence or willful act of any other person, horse, rider or animal which is present at the show, whether as an exhibitor, spectator or otherwise, or whether the result of any cause, including the actual or alleged negligence of the horse show, its officials, officers, directors, agents or employees. Under New Jersey Law, an equestrian area operator is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine animal activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine animal activities, pursuant to P.L. 1997,c. 287, C:5:15-1 ET SEQ. A participant shall submit a written report to the operator setting forth the details of any accident or incident as soon as possible, but in no event longer than 180 days from the accident or incident.
