NEASE GIRLS LACROSSE

COMMITTEE CHAIR/VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS

BOOSTER LIAISON: Attend monthly booster meetings. Encourage 100% GPBC membership from parents. Contact Athletic Director to arrange buses for away games. Balance check book, accounts payable, accounts receivable. Pay refs at end of each home game.

HOME GAME FIELD TECH: One for each JV and Varsity home games to fill water cooler, provide cups, be go-to person when needed by Coach. Hang up/take down “Nease” banner at entrance and on field. Raise and lower flag.Contact AD day before each home game to verify that the field is lined.

ANNOUNCER: (Two volunteers) One JV/One Varsity, play warm-up music, National Anthem, pre-game announcements (code of conduct, etc.), line-up of both teams, play-by-play announcements, fun-facts, etc.

SCOREBOARD KEEPER: One JV/One Varsity, keep in radio contact with field time-keeper, in charge of score board. Turn on/off score board.

STAT BOOK- One chair to coordinate schedule of trained stat keepers (should have at least four people trained). One for each JV and Varsity, home and away games. Keep stats of all games by entering information in stat book such as goals, assists, penalties, goals saves, ground ball, etc. E-mail final scores and important individual stats (i.e. assists, goals, and saves) to publicity person.

TIME KEEPER- Two coordinators, one for each JV and Varsity games to keep official time on field and communicate with scoreboard keeper in press box.

PHOTOGRAPHER- JV and Varsity games, take action photos to submit to newspapers, website.

VIDEOGRAPHER- Two volunteers, one each for JV and Varsity to video games for coaches to review with team.

CONCESSIONS- One chair person to purchase and stock concession stand on a weekly basis. Must open and close at all home games (volunteers will work stand during game as coordinated by Concessions/Gate Scheduler). Return money to booster liaison.

CONCESSION/GATE SCHEDULER- One chair person to schedule concessions and gate for every home game, both JV and Varsity. (3 concession people and one gate person each). Preferably JV parents works Varsity games and Varsity parents works JV games. Pick up money box and return box to Athletic Director, hang sign with ticket prices, hand out programs, have GPBC forms available to fill out.

APPAREL- Chair person to arrange sale of T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. at home games. Coordinate with Denise Bates. Sell left over jackets and sweat pants at Fund Run to players.

UNIFORM COORDINATOR- Responsible for handling uniform distribution, collect uniform should a player leave the team before the end of the season. If any part of a player’s uniform is missing, the player must reimburse the team. Label and store clean uniforms in the team’s plastic bins. (Pinnies, kilts, jerseys).

FORMS COORDINATOR: Collect required forms from all players/parents in beginning of season. Make sure all forms are completed and handed in. Also, collect volunteer hours on a monthly basis and return to Paula Gaskin. (All forms available on our web site).

AWAY GAME COORDINATOR: Provide sandwiches/drinks for away games (paid for by team). Call Publix day before game order sandwiches. Pick up sandwiches day of game and put together bags with sandwich, fruit, granola bars. Drop off at bus at departure time.

PUBLICITY- Alert newspapers with home game reminders (Beaches Leader, Ponte Vedra Recorder, Shorelines and St. Augustine Record, Florida Times Union.) Submit recaps of all games to these newspapers and our web site, Mary Lundy weekly at: , and Wired Staff at Nease.

PROGRAM CHAIR PERSON: Design and print program to be handed out at all home games (includes roster, game schedules, brief history, web address, photos, etc.)

WEB SITE/NEWSLETTER- One coordinator to maintain website. Collects information from coaches, players, booster liaison. E-mail weekly newsletter to parents and players.

TEAM DINNERS/AWARDS BANQUET- Coordinate four dinners throughout the season. Responsibility to find restaurant (such as Long Horn, etc.) to either donate or purchase food at a reduced rate. Also, find locations to host dinners such as Community Center, homes, cafeteria, and churches. Coordinate awards banquet at end of season.

SENIOR APPRECIATION DAY- Organize last home game appreciation for seniors and their parents. Coordinate date with coach and booster liaison. Be creative – memento for seniors.

FUND RUN CHAIR PERSON- Working with Boys Lax Chair on coordinating our largest fund raiser in January. Encourage girls to collect money, get prizes, organize volunteers, collect packets.

CARWASH FUNDRAISER: Reserve a date with Walgreens at end of season. Supervise girls with carwash.
