Scholarship Application

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Applicant must be a high school senior or presently enrolled as a full-time college student. The applicant’s parent, spouse, or guardian must be an individual, either officer/enlistedor civilian,working in for the National Guard Bureau in the VA/MD/DC area,in one of the following categories:
  2. Title 10 AGR — Army or Air National Guard assigned to the National Guard Bureau or representing NGB in the National Capital Region.
  3. Active Army or Air Force personnel assigned to the National Guard Bureau.
  4. Retired from the T-10 AGR program with the National Guard Bureau.
  5. Deceased personnel (military or civilian) whose previous assignment was the National Guard Bureau.
  6. Civilian personnel (GS/NSPS civilians only)working full-time for the National Guard Bureau.
  1. Applications are not accepted from applicants that have previously received scholarship awards from the NGBOSC.
  1. Scholarship funds will be awarded through the academic institution's financial aid office to be used for educational needs including tuition, books, and related fees.
  1. Attach an original essay of approximately 500 words describing your personal and professional goals,plans for achieving those goals, and any special needs (if applicable). NGBOSC offers both academic and needs-assessed scholarships. If you would like to be considered for NGBOSC’s needs-assessed scholarship, please include any obstacles or challenges you have overcome.
  1. Include official transcripts from high school or college/university and a copy of your SAT/ACT score reportif the score is not listed on your transcripts.

(If you have attended only 1 term of college or less, please include official transcripts from your college and high school attended.)

  1. Attach copy of DEERS Enrollment Form, in complete, and signed.
  1. Applicants must fill out the application in its entirety, providing all requested information. Failure to include all requested information will result in ineligibility.
  1. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before April 1, 2016.
