GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (Please readcarefully)

  • Events will be held in accordance with current 2017 EA Dressage Rules as amended exceptwhere FEI Rules apply. NCEC Amateur Owner Rules apply at this competition. The onus is on competitors to know therules.
  • RiskWarningandDisclaimer-Horseridingisadangerousactivityandcanresultinseriousinjury (includingdeath) andloss.Allpersonswhoride or tendahorse atNCECeventsdosoentirelyat their own risk. Neither Equestrian Australia, NCEC nor the committee or any memberthereof, accepts any liability for any personal injury (including death) suffered by any person fromor relatingtoanyincidentinvolvingahorseorcontributedtobythenegligentact,errororomission of NCEC, the Committee or a memberthereof.

NCEC Amateur Owner/Rider Qualifications:

  • The rider must be a Competitive member of either Equestrian Australia or NCEC.
  • To qualify as an NCEC Amateur Owner/Rider the rider must not have competed in an FEI Sanctioned CDI (PSG- GP) or CDI-W in the prior 3 calendar years.
  • An NCEC amateur owner rider’s principle source of income must not be obtained from sponsorship, breaking, training, riding or coaching any horse or rider over the last two years.
  • An NCEC amateur owner rider must not have sponsorship per annum above the value of $500.
  • An NCEC Amateur Owner rider must not have remuneration (excluding prize money) above the value of $500 per /annum for any services connected with the breaking, training or riding of any other person’s horse or pony in the last 3 years. This does not include instructing riders, provided that instructing is not the principle income (per rule 5.)
  • The horse/pony must be primarily ridden and trained by the rider/owner with only periodic ridden assistance by person(s) other than the owner. Specifically the horse/pony must not have been ridden or trained by anyone, other than the rider/owner, from the closing date of entries to the day of the event, for any event in which the rider wishes to compete as an amateur owner rider.

Other Conditions & Rules

  • Scratching before close of entries the full entry fee will berefunded.
  • Scratchings will be accepted up to and including the day of competition. Refunds: After thecloseof entries the club will refund 50% of entry fees & the horse levy when presented witha veterinary or medical certificate within 48 hours of the competition. The compulsory Admin fee is not refundable under any circumstances – including eventcancellations.
  • DNAs please show the courtesy of scratching before the day if you are unable to attend theevent.
  • Height of horses and ponies: Refer current 2017 EA DressageRules.
  • Stallions:Effectiveasof01January2011,thehorse(stallion)FloatmustdisplayStallion IdentificationDiscsatalltimes.DiscsareavailableforpurchasefromtheNationalOfficeof Equestrian Australia. Stallions are to be handled as in EAguidelines.
  • Onlyhorsesthatareenteredforacompetitionarepermittedonoraroundthecompetition grounds during theevent.
  • Riders may be changed before the start of competition – notification must be in writing atleast40minutespriortothestartofthatcompetition.Ariderofahorsemaynotbechangedifanother rider has ridden the horse on the day, either in warm-up or in acompetition.
  • Draw position cannot be changed without the permission of the OrganisingCommittee.
  • A competitor may not add a horse to the draw without approval of the OrganisingCommittee
  • Conditions for Riding Attire & Hats. As per EA Rules or special conditions as covered inthe Competition schedule. Riders under 18 must wear an approved safety helmet at all times.Riders training other than warming up for a test must wear an approved safety helmet at alltimes.
  • GearCheck–allcompetitorsmustpresenttotheGearSteward before or directly after a test.Failuretodosomayincur elimination.
  • Warm-up please use designated warm-up areas, be aware of group riding rules, look whereyou aregoing,keepatleast10mfromcompetitionarenas.Lungingisonlyallowedinthedesignated area and not on the competitionarena.
  • Callers are allowed in alltests.
  • Randomswabbingmaytakeplace.IfapproachedbyOfficialSteward/VetOfficeroftheday, competitors must allow samples to be taken from their horse for drugtests.
  • Welfare of the horse is paramount - Refer to current 2017 EA Dressage competitionrules.
