The Nashawannuck Gallery proudly presents oil paintings by Annie Steiner and Suzette Alsop Jones in a show entitled “Buds.”

Annie Steiner and Suzette Alsop Jones have been studio buddies for 3 years at Cottage Street Studios in Easthampton. Although they work in very different styles, they both enjoy painting flowers. “BUDS”, the title of their two-person show, unites their painting subjects and their friendship together.

The show will take place from April 8th to May 4th, at the Nashawannuck Gallery, located at 40, Cottage Street, in Easthampton. The gallery is a well-known and popular spot for art in the town, and Easthampton is gaining the reputation as a hub for art in the whole area. Marlies Stoddard, the gallery director, is very active and creative in the community, organizing painting competitions and promoting local artists. The latest “Paint Easthampton Plein Air” that took place last May was a great success. The gallery also displays top quality craft work by local artists.

“BUDS” will offer an array of different flower images. For Suzette, painting is about trying to capture the energy of living things; flowers are so bold and spectacular and yet so fragile. She loves the challenging forms and the opportunity to explore strong shapes and expressive color.

Annie is a detail lover and likes to make you feel lost in wild flower fields. She will remind you of those times when you feel totally surrounded by fresh air, buzzing summer insects, and clear blue skies overhead. Art lovers have bought her work for their homes to remind them of summer in the winter time

Suzette grew up in the Berkshires in a family of painters. She taught painting and architecture in the Boston area and moved to Western Massachusetts a few years ago. She has had 14 solo shows and has exhibited in group shows all over New England. Her email address is:

Annie was born in Belgium, where she studied art. She exhibited in Florida where she lived for a number of years. She moved to Massachusetts 13 years ago, and participates in outdoor shows in all the surrounding states as well as in MA. Her website address is: Her email address is: .
