THE SERPICO STAREdition 21

January 30 – February 3rd

Mr. Doom’s has asked that I pass along the following message:

As you know, some of students have been studying immigration for the past several weeks in both literature and investigations. As a culminating activity, we will go through an immigration simulation onFriday, February 10. Mr. Dooms is in need of several volunteers to help with this activity.

Next week, students will take on the “identity” of an immigrant heading to Ellis Island. On Friday, February 10 they will simulate the experience of going through processing at Ellis Island. Volunteers will be the “processors” at Ellis Island.

Ideally, I need between 9 to 12 volunteers on Friday the 10thfrom about 2:00 -3:15pm.

If interested, please contact Mr. Dooms: soon as possible. He will then get you the information you will need for the simulation. When we have heard from enough people, we will let everyone know that the volunteer spots have been filled. If you have any questions, as always, feel free to contact him.

Thank you all for your time and your continued support of your child’s education!

*If your child is currently in Frontier with me, you are still welcome to volunteer, but we will have this simulation again with the second group of students later in the year.
