7.0Notice of Question

Submitted by Cllr Nick Killian & Cllr Noel Leonard

“Can the manager give a full report to the Local Authority regarding the Cemetery at Rathbeggan, as to what the entry procedures are, following a recent funeral that had to wait one hour to gain access to the burial ground. To further ask what action the council have taken regarding the Doberman dogs which are preventing access to this public cemetery and to further clarify when was the last date that an official of Meath County Council has entered this graveyard which is in the ownership of the council at Rathbeggan”.

The Area Administrator advised that while the graveyard is in the ownership of Meath County Council it is not maintained by the Council. The members requested that the Council write to the landowner, through whose land the right of way exists from the road to the graveyard, regarding current access arrangements.

The meeting then concluded at 11.30a.m.
