MINUTES OF A REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION
SCHOOL DISTRICT OF NEW HOLSTEIN
NEW HOLSTEIN, WISCONSIN

July 17, 2017

The meeting was called to order by President,Tim Stadler. Other School Board members present wereJodie Goebel, Don Turba, Julie Schneider, Doug Kestell and Lisa Jacobson. School Administrators present were Dan Nett, Doug Olig, Ty Maki, Tanya Fenner, Amanda Jacobson, Tim Schmahl and Dan Storch. Also present Mark Sherry, Rick Amundson, Sharon Amundson,Tara Leithold, Greg Ubbelohde, Terry Koenig, Eric Hoefler, Jackie Weir and Sue Klapperich.

Stadler verified thata notice of the meeting was legally publicized onJuly 12, 2017. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Stadler presented Rick Amundson with a plaque to thank him for his 18 years of service and dedication to the School District of New Holstein.

Hearing of Individuals: Terry Koenig introduced himself as a candidate to be considered for the appointment to fill the vacancy on the Board of Education.

Academic Spotlight: Eric Hoefler spoke of efforts and activities held at the Elementary School in the “Jump Rope for Heart” program. Jackie Weir, representative of the American Heart Association, announced that New Holstein Elementary School received the “Top School” award again in Calumet County for raising $14,000.00. The school was also recognized as a “Fit Friendly Worksite” for the second year in a row.

President Stadler introduced and welcomed Dr. Amanda Jacobson as the newly hired Middle School Principal.

Motion by Turba, seconded by Jacobson, to approve action items and report items on the consent agenda as published. (Carried6-0.)

  • 2nd Reading – School Board Policies 6152 – Student Fees, Fines, and Charges and Policy 8500 – Food Services
  • Administrative Reports of Olig, Jacobson, Fenner and Maki

Motion by Turba, seconded by Goebel to remove CESA 7 contract from table (June 12th Board of Education Meeting). (Carried 6-0.)

Motion by Jacobson, seconded by Goebel to approve 2017-2018 CESA 7 Services contract as presented. Contract is subject to adjustments pending special education needs during the school year.

(Carried 6-0.)

Motion by Goebel, seconded by Turba to approve the school district’s notice for Academic Standards that are in effect for the 2017-2018 school year. (Carried 6-0.)
