Mini Magazine Project

Step 1:

Decide on a topic for your magazine. Look at the examples below if you need some ideas. Once you pick a topic, decide what articles you want to include. You should have this done within the first 20 minutes of class to leave plenty of time to write your articles.

Step 2:

Create your magazine in a Publisher document using either a two or three column format with lines between your columns. You can use a template or create it from scratch like we did last class. Give your magazine a title and a date.

Step 3:

Start writing your articles. You should have about three-five short articles or segments (about 100 words each) and your magazine should be two pages. The font size should be no larger than 12 pt for the text of the articles. If you have a lot of white space left on your second page, make sure to add some pictures or graphics to spread out your information. YOU SHOULD TAKE UP CLOSE TO THE ENTIRE TWO PAGES.

Two of the articles can be borrowed from the Internet but you must cite the source. Also, you can include things like horoscopes and fun quizzes as articles as well.

Step 4:

Use the formatting techniques you’ve learned this semester to make your magazine look professional.
