Hi Susan, I know you’re getting a lot of praise from people who have much more clout than me, so I’m just sending you this personal response. Only YOU could have gotten me so involved with SLOAT, spending as much time as I did on the fall 2011 assessment and report, and spending as much time as I did on the poster board. You’re the best kind of mentor: you’re a role model and a friend. I’ve had nothing but support and guidance from you every step of the way. Thank you for making ECC a better place to work. You’re amazing!  - Margaret Botney, SLOAT member, Humanities

Hi, First of all congratulations to the winners! Way to go! Second, congratulations to all the faculty participants. Your posters were fabulous and the room was electrified with energy and excitement. Fantastic work. :-) Finally, I want to thank Susan G for her leadership and her love of the SLO process. Susan you're one of our academic angels! Thanks everyone! Warm regards and best wishes – Dr.EdytheAbdullah, President

Good morning faculty, Let me begin by stating that the Student Learning Outcomes Symposium held yesterdaywas a true showcase of the excellent work on assessment being done by faculty. The posters, video presentations and handouts were impressively prepared and each contained data that correlated to measurable course performance objectives. The engagement and enthusiasm of the faculty is evident in what you have displayed. This work adequately and appropriately represents what Middle States requires as an organized and sustainable process to assess student learning goals. At the course level, with evidence that assessment information is being used to improve teaching and learning, we are satisfying this mandate. As an aside, I opted not to vote on the best poster presentation. They were all extremely well prepared and presented and yes, I chickened out. LOL! Finally, kudos to Prof. Susan Gaulden for spearheading this initiative and providing leadership on academic assessment here at Essex. – Dr. Gibson, VP of Academic Affairs

YEAH Susan!!!! : - ) – Lynn Wilson, SLOAT member, Biology & Chemistry

Great job, Susan. – Akil Khalfani, SLOAT member, Social Sciences
