Agenda

Meeting called to order by Rich Wilcox at 11:00a.m.

  1. Rich Wilcox made opening remarks and introduced new committee members Nancy Bucholtz and Lee Slattery. Nancy was the chairperson of the Admissions Committee for the 2012 Farm Technology show in Outagamie County. Rich Wilcox then reported that approximately 30,500 people attended this year’s show in Barron County. He also stated that after some parking and rain issues the first day that things went better on days 2 and 3.
  1. Tom Domaszek reported that at this year’s show each admissions gate had a name and were decorated with flowers by the Master Gardeners. He felt that this was a nice touch and our committee should look into this for the show next year. Tom also indicated that Barron County had 3 training sessions for volunteers scheduled as follows: weekday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., weekday evening at 7:00 p.m. and a Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
  1. Nancy Bucholtz reported that staffing at admissions gates will require more volunteers in the mornings and less for the afternoon sessions. Nancy also indicated that T-shirts for all Admissions volunteers should be available before the training sessions and that Rich Wilcox should check with Farm Tech representative to see if our committee has to staff the information booth.
  1. Gail Tryba was concerned about someone forgetting something from their vehicle and being unable to get back through the Admissions gate. Discussion followed with the committee members feeling that there should be enough space to get back out if the admissions gates are properly staffed and properly set-up.
  1. Rich Wilcox concluded remarks by indicating that the Admissions gates may need to put parent cell phone numbers on the wristbands of any children in case they get lost ensuring a parent could be contacted. This issue will be addressed with the executive committee and or security for our show. Rich also thanked Nancy and Lee for becoming involved in the Admissions committee for the 2014 show. Sentry Insurance may have approximately 75-100 volunteers available for the Admissions Committee and we should know more by next meeting.
  1. Adjourn-12:20 p.m.
  1. Next Meeting-Sometime in September. Committee members will be notified by Rich Wilcox of the date, time and place of the next meeting.
