(1) BARTONCOUNTYCOMMUNITY COLLEGE, JUNCTION CITY/FORT RILEY, KS:
Received news from William Nash, Associate Dean, Environmental Technology & Military Programs at BartonCountyCommunity College, that BCCC has now implemented both an Emergency Management Associate of Applied Science Degree as well as an Emergency Management Certificate. Both are available on-site as well as via distance learning. For additional information, Dean Nash can be reached at:
(2) COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN NEVADA:
Talked with Jim Santos, Chair of the Public Safety and Human Services Department of the Community College of Southern Nevada, who tells us that the proposal to implement an Emergency Management Associate Degree has not only been approved but implemented, with courses being taught now, though registrations are not what was hoped for. Talked about the EM HiEd website and upcoming HiEd Conference.
(3) EMER.MGMT. & HOMELAND SECURITY/DEFENSE HIGHER EDUCATION CONFERENCE, JUNE 6-8, 2006:
Continued to make modifications to agenda -- mostly adding moderators to sessions without -- still looking for two volunteers -- FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer Plenary Panel. Am told that 206 conference registrations have been processed.
