2013 WEBELOS CAMP CAMPSITE REQUEST FORM

Reserve your Pack’s campsite for the 2013 summer session. All sessions are limited to 250 boys.

Maximum totals in campsites include boys and adults.

REQUIRED DEPOSIT

This $100.00 fee will apply to your total camping fee, but is not refundable or transferable to any other fees.

(The CampDirector has the right to move units as necessary.)

All registered: Webelos Scouts, Webelos Dens, their Parent or Guardian, and their Adult Webelos Leader.

Activities include: SWIMMING, ARCHERY, BB RANGE, HIKING, NATURE, CONSERVATION, COOKING AND BOATING.

Webelos camps will be held at: Camp James Ray in Pottsboro, Texas. This is among beautiful trees and located directly on LakeTexoma.

Participants will live in 9’ x 7’ two-man wall tents on wood platforms. The tents have no mosquito netting. Showers are located in each campsite. Cots or mattresses are not furnished.

Directions to: CampJames Ray:

From Dallas take US 75 north to exit 69 (Hwy 120), turn west and follow Hwy 120 to Pottsboro and proceed straight west on FM 996. Follow FM 996 past the church on the right. About ½ mile past the church turn left on to Locust Road, proceed to the four way stop and turn right on Mill Creek Road. Follow paved road past All Saints Episcopal Camp and the Girl Scout Camp. The camp entrance is on the right just past Mill Creek Resort Road.

COST

The total cost per Webelos Scout is $135.00 in Council and $145 out-of Council if paid by May21st or $145.00 after deadline. The fee includes eight great meals and all necessary program equipment. Tents are provided. Participants bring their own personal gear and a sleeping bag or blankets and cots for the leaders. Cots are optional for the youth. If fee is not paid in full by May21st, the fee increases to $145.00. Remember that in order to protect you,Circle Ten Council does not accept credit card payment over the phone. If the Den Chief for your den wishes to attend Webelos camp, he may do so at the discretion of the CampDirector and the leader’s fee will apply.

The Webelos and leaders will receive a beautiful Camp James Ray patch if their full reservation fee is in by May 21st, 2013.

CAMPSITE RESERVATION

Campsites will be assigned upon arrival at camp according to unit size, camp population and available space. Reservation fees are NOT refundable.

LEADERSHIP

Two adult leaders are required for each Pack. NO Webelos will be accepted without at least two adult leaders. One leader is free with each pack bringing at least 5 Webelos, other leaders’ fees are $75.00 per adult. There must be a minimum of five (5) Webelos for the pack to receive one free leader. There is only one free leader per pack regardless of the number of sessions the pack attends. Cots are NOT furnished. Children other than registered Webelos Scouts cannot attend camp.

MEDICAL

Each Webelos and adult attending the Webelos Camp must bring a completed BSA medical (Parts A & B ONLY)with them. Parts A & B are required since Webelos Camp takes place in a resident camp setting, conducting strenuous activities. These medical forms will be collected when your unit signs-in at camp and given back to the unit at the end of camp. A trained medic is on duty at the camp, at all times.

TRANSPORTATION

All participants must furnish their own transportation to and from camp. At camp all vehicles must be parked in the camp parking lot. Exceptions can be made for persons with disabilities.

TRADING POST

The camp’s trading post is maintained as a service to the campers. A supply of handicraft materials as well as souvenir items, including T-shirts, caps, cold drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase.

ARRIVAL-DEPARTURE

Plan to arrive at camp between 1 p.m. and2 p.m. on your first day of camp. Check-in will begin at 1 p.m. The first meal served for participants in session No. 1, 3and 5 will be Sunday dinner, with the last meal being breakfast on Wednesday. The first meal served for participants in session No. 2, 4 and 6 will be Wednesday dinner, with the last meal being breakfast on Saturday. Departure time will be no later than 10 a.m. on your last day of camp.

ACTIVITIES

This year’s program will include the following Activity Badges: Geologist, Outdoorsman, Aquanaut, Readyman, Forrester, Naturalist, Scientist, Athlete and Fitness. Along with a wide selection of Activity Badges to choose from we offer themed events, movie night at the pool, open areas and much more. At the end of the session you are attending, you will receive a list of the requirements covered toward the Webelos Activity Badges. ***New Webelos II activities include an exclusive night adventure-more information will be available at the leaders’ orientation in April.

WEBELOS OPPORTUNITIES

***Enjoy swimming, fishing, archery, BB range, campfires, boating, Scoutcraft, nature, handicrafts, games, etc.

LEADER OPPORTUNITIES

***Almost as numerous as the Webelos. We promise you the time of your life – Good food, good fellowship, a good program and fishing.

AND – at the end of a busy day, you can crawl into the sack, breath the nice clean air, and let the songs of the night lull you to a restful sleep.

WHAT A WEBELOS SCOUT SHOULD TAKE TO CAMP

Equipment means those things that are necessary for your living comfort and convenience. Here is a suggested list of items for Webelos to take to camp with them.
