Marriage Procedures / Checklist

  1. Wedding Request form – to be completed by Bride and Groom and returned to Rhema Family Church – Pastor/Celebrant
  2. First interview arranged with Bride and Groom
  3. ProvideBride and Groom with “Notice of Intention to Marry” form. This form has to be completed not later than one month and one day before marriage date.
  1. Bride and Groom to complete questions on page 3 of form and return form to Pastor/Celebrant bringing ID documents. Pastor/Celebrant complete page 4 of form having noted and written ID document details on the form. Bride and Groom sign in designated place and Pastor/Celebrant to witness and sign. Pastor/Celebrant also signs at bottom of page 4 and includes their Celebrant number. When completed this form is kept by the Pastor/Celebrant until after the wedding and then posted to Birth, Deaths, and Marriage in the State the Bride and Groom were married in.
  2. Wedding Information form given to Bride and Groom to complete – This form to be filled out and returned to Rhema Family Church – Pastor/Celebrant.
  1. Pastor/Celebrant provides Bride and Groom with leaflet “Happily Ever… Before and After” and offer Bride and Groom pre-marriage classes, eg., “Prepare and Enrich” or Biblical Guidance for Marriage. If couple agree, times and dates are arranged for this to commence.
  1. Pastor/Celebrant emails the couple examples of marriage ceremonies and vows asking Bride and Groom to decide on what Ceremony they would prefer.
  1. Bride and Groom email completed Marriage Ceremony to Pastor/Celebrant giving opportunity to clarify and adjust the Ceremony where necessary. Arrangements for Marriage Ceremony – Ceremony and vows to be agreed upon.
  1. Pastor/Celebrant discusses with Bride and Groom the Wedding Costs and decide on cost. Pastor/Celebrant then informs Administration re amount to be charged to Bride and Groom and Administration create invoice to be given to Bride and Groom. The wedding costs should be paid to Administration prior to wedding.
  2. Pastor/Celebrant completes the “Official Certificate of Marriage and Declaration of no Impediment to Marriage” (Green Book). This form has two parts, 1. Front page of form “Official Certificate of Marriage”is signed on the Wedding Day by the Couple, Witnesses and Pastor/Celebrant. (2) Back page of the form “Declaration of No Impediment to Marriage” to be signed by couple and Pastor/ Celebrant a few daysprior to wedding day.
  1. Pastor/Celebrant completes the “Marriage Register” (Red Book) where the Bride and Groom, Witnesses and Pastor/Celebrant sign on the wedding day.
  1. Pastor/Celebrant prepares and prints the “Celebratory Wedding Certificate” ready to be signed on the Wedding day by theBride and Groom, Witnesses and Pastor/Celebrant.
  1. Wedding Rehearsal takes place at agreed time, where Bridal Party attend and rehearse the wedding ceremony. –During the rehearsal, the Bride and Groom can sign the back page of “Declaration of No Impediment to Marriage” (Green book)
  2. Wedding Day – “Certificates of Marriage” (green book), Registry Book (red book) and Marriage Certificate to be signed by Pastor/Celebrant, Bride, Groom and Witnesses
  3. The “Official Certificates of Marriage form and Notice of Intention to Marry form to be sent to Department of Births Deaths and Marriages in the state where the marriage has taken place ensuring date sent is registered. It isrecommended, that photocopies of these documents be kept on file.
  1. The issuing of a “Marriage Celebrant - Post Marriage Evaluation Form” be given to the Bride and Groom no later than one month after their marriage.
