SUMMARY

The Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center Marketing Ambassador will play a key role in helping CRCD meet its strategic objective of increasing awareness and understanding of the services offered at the WorkSource Center toVernon-Central residents, a Community of South Los Angeles as well as its broader Cityand County of LA residents. The Ambassador will also help tell the CRCD story by delivering talks to local groups and organizations. The Ambassador will also ensure that more local residents will know how to access allCRCD’s programs, services and resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as a community and marketing ambassador to local schools, residents, non-profit organizations and businesses
  2. Serve as a liaison to all adults seeking employment, training and other services as well asyouth and connect them to services leading to employment, training and other programs that will lead to self-sufficiency.
  3. Develop and manage community partners that serve as pipelines for CRCD’s recruitment efforts for the WorkSource Center and other programs. Partners include but are not limited to LAUSD, Community College District, places of worship, all types of Community Based Organizations (CBOs), private and public training institutions, City, County, State and Federal organizations, Job Corps, Department of Rehabilitation, Adult Schools, Department of Public Social Services, LA County Probation, SLATEZ/Promise Zone partners and network organizations and many more
  4. Cultivate new community partnerships with guidance from the WorkSource Director and CRCD Executive Director
  5. Contact local groups and ask to speak at one of their meetings
  6. Provide general support to visitors and staff
  7. Co-facilitate the WorkSource Center information sessions and program orientations
  8. Monitor adults and youth access to the WorkSource Center and other CRCD programs
  9. Uphold and live by CRCD’s Mission and Vision Statements and 5 Year Strategic Plan

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 5 years’ experience or related work and/or AA Degree
  2. Familiarity with the At-Risk population is a plus; such mature workers, mono-lingual, Veterans, youth, former or current foster care youth, re-entry (formerly incarcerated), people receiving county services, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ community
  3. Knowledge of database management and quality control process such as Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), CalJobs, JobsLA, Salesforce and in-house databases.
  4. Reliable, flexible team player who works well with minimal supervision, who has a good work ethic, and an ability to set and maintain personal boundaries
  5. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources
  7. Reliable transportation; valid driver's license, and car insurance as required by law, as appropriate
  8. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites throughout the day
  2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 35 pounds
  3. Combination of field and office environment
  4. May necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  5. May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  6. May participate in training and staff development that requires local and out of state travel

Compensation:This is a full-time, nonexempt position. Salary for this position is $40,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package.
