Regular On-Site Volunteering

Library: Help library staff as needed; re-shelve books, assist students

Art Boosters: Prepare materials for classes such as cutting paper, threading needles, cutting yarn, etc.

Periodic On-site Volunteering

Hospitality*: Help plan and coordinate activities for families and teachers, including Teacher Appreciation Week, etc; solicit refreshment donations as needed

Teacher’s Treat Days*: Help plan and coordinate quarterly teacher treat days where PTA provides snack bars and goodies for our fabulous teachers and staff; coordinate calendar; solicit & set up donations

International Committee: Bilingual parents needed for translation and assistance with multi-cultural outreach, to include International Day/Night

Assemblies: Chair works with principal to research and schedule presentations and coordinates details with presenters; volunteers needed to assist with onsite set-up and clean up

Yearbook*: Volunteers needed to help collect pictures, create yearbook pages, edit and sell annual yearbook; volunteers also needed to assist on-site for picture days

Learning Garden*: Volunteers assist with classroom gardening projectsthroughout the year

Picture Day*: Volunteers are needed to help coordinate with Life Touch and help on-site on picture day.

Pinch Hitter: Volunteers are needed to pinch hit at events throughout the year

Programs that Work with KIDS

Reflections:Collect entries and coordinate judging for this National PTA-sponsored art contest (Fall)

Spelling Bee: Volunteers needed to help coordinate spelling bee, serve as a judge or a caller (Spring)

Running at Recess*: Volunteers needed to assist on-site; distribute prizes; track registered students

Odyssey of the Mind*: Chairperson & multiple volunteers needed; organize participation in National problem-solving competition; coordinate team assignments; coach a team; judge or volunteer on competition day; donate snacks or supplies; teach skills (Registration in Fall; competition in Spring)

WATCH D.O.G.S: Male caregivers needed to act as grade liaisons for this male role model program; a sign-up party will be held to recruit daily volunteers

Family Events

Thanksgiving Day Luncheon*:Volunteers needed to help serve annual Thanksgiving luncheon (Fall)

Bingo Nights*: Volunteers needed to help solicit prizes; promote events; order food; coordinate bake sale at the event; set-up, staff, and run the events (Fall & Spring)

Spirit Events: Volunteers needed to help plan and staffspirit events that bring together Clermont families (Year-round)

Virtual Volunteering

Directory: Assist with development of online school directory; communicate details, production, and distribution of hard copies as needed; sell ads to offset printing costs as needed; goal is to complete by mid-October (Fall)

Membership: Coordinate membership drive and maintain membership records during the year; work to increase the PTA membership; solicit incentives/benefits for members (e.g., discounts, giveaway items) (Heavy Fall, but Year-round)

School of Excellence*: Coordinate with PTA to administer survey, develop and monitor improvement plan (Year-round)

Fund Raisers

Silent Auction: Identify and follow up with businesses and individuals for auction and raffle item donations; prepare event program; coordinate event publicity; track registrations and make deposits of ticket fees; organize class baskets; prepare auction items for display; help with logistics, event décor, set-up, and on-site assistance (Fall)

Book Fair: Volunteers needed to work at the book fair and assist with preparations and promotion(Spring)

Box Tops*: Collect and count Box Tops for Education.

The Clermont PTA Board cordially invites you to join us for a cup of coffee and some home-baked treats on Friday, September 19th. This is a great opportunity to learn more about open volunteer positions, the resources available to you as a volunteer, and the standard policies and procedures for leading a PTA committee. Not to mention, it’s a great way to meet other Clermont families!
