WAPPINGERS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 2016-2017

CURRICULUM: You will review the 7th grade curriculum in French and

build on vocabulary and grammar in topics such as Leisure, Meal-taking,

House and Home, Shopping, Community/Health and Welfare, and Travel.

You will grow in your ability to speak French and will better understand francophone culture. This will take place through songs, group and

individual activities including written and oral assignments.

CLASS SUPPLIES: French section in a binder/pens & pencils/composition notebook/ Pocket Folder

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES: Index cards (3” x 5”)

Hand-held pencil sharpener

CLASS EXPECTATIONS:

BE SURE TO:

·  Place your phone in the phone storage hanger.

·  Follow carefully the teacher’s instructions for all work;

·  Be busy, quietly doing only the assigned work; Go on to French homework if classwork is completed;

·  Remain in your assigned seat at all times unless otherwise directed

by the teacher;

·  Raise your hand to speak. Talking in class is permitted only as the teacher directs;

·  Keep your hands, eyes and feet at your own desk and property;

·  Always bring supplies to class.

CLASSROOM RESPONSIBILITIES: You will need to:

·  Come to class on time and enter the room quietly.

·  Sit down immediately and take out notebook, pen/pencil

and planner.

·  Write down daily assignments in a planner.

·  Complete all projects, classwork and homework assignments

and take all quizzes and tests.

·  You will need to make up assignments, quizzes and tests by

the 3rd day of your return to class when absent. Show me any

work you have made up.

EXTRA HELP: WEDNESDAY AFTER SCHOOL,

MORNINGS AVAILABLE

Middle School Requirements: Students must take and pass a final exam

at the end of the school year. The 8th grade exam counts as 1/5 of the year average.
