Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students
A $1,200 scholarship will be awarded annually to a non-traditional student at any MaineCommunityCollege who has demonstrated a personal commitment to the Kiwanis goal of service either at the college or in the community.
Selection criteria:
a. Demonstrate the need for financial assistance.
b.. Be a resident of one of the communities served by Augusta Kiwanis, as follows:

c.Have had a hiatus of at least one year between the end of high school and the start of post-secondary education.
d.Have successfully completed at least one semester of work at a Community college.
e.Demonstrate a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
f.Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Kiwanis goal of service either at the college or in the community.

- A transcript of your most recent grades demonstrating a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. (KVCC can provide this information for you)
- Describe the activities in which you are involved that demonstrate your personal commitment to the Kiwanis’ goal of service either at the college or in the community.
- Two letters of recommendation from school officials, employers, clergy, or any other people who are not related to you, but know and speak of you, one preferably from an Augusta Kiwanis Club member.

Also, Information I provide on the Kiwanis Club Scholarship application may be shared with these individuals. I give permission to the KVCC Financial Aid Department and the KVCC Scholarship Committee to use data from my high school transcripts, GED records, KVCC and other college transcripts, financial aid applications, reports and award letters. I understand that their sole use of the material is to determine eligibility and to evaluate the progress of the Augusta Kiwanis Club Scholarship Program.
