MINUTES

MAY 22, 2014

CALL TO ORDER:

John Wieczorek called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. at the Mahoning Township Building, 2685 Mahoning Drive East, Lehighton, PA 18235

PRESENT:

John Wieczorek, Chairman; Franklin Ruch, Vice Chairman; Bruce Steigerwalt, Supervisor; Shawn Haggerty, Supervisor; Kerry Verrastro, Supervisor; and Natalie D. Haggerty, Secretary-Treasurer

NEW BUSIENSS:

Three quotes were provided for a new dump truck. Quotes are as follows:

Mack$145,620.00
Kovatch International$139,661.03 $143,307.03 (5year warranty)
Lowe & Moyer International$139,018.53

MOTION

Frank Ruch made a motion to purchase an International Dump Truck fromKovatch with a 5 year warranty to include the jake break, stickering and to match the Lowe & Moyer base price. Seconded by Kerry Verrastro. Franklin Ruch, yes; Shawn Haggerty, yes; Bruce Steigerwalt, yes; Kerry Verrastro, yes and John Wieczorek, no 4-1 vote.

MOTION

Franklin Ruch made a motion stating that if Kovatch advises that they can’t do it at $87,571.00 /$88,214.00 then Ron can go and call Lowe & Moyer. Seconded by Kerry Verrastro. Franklin Ruch, yes; Shawn Haggerty, yes; Bruce Steigerwalt, yes; Kerry Verrastro, yes and John Wieczorek, no 4-1 vote.

MOTION

Bruce Steigerwalt made a motion to contact PNC Bank to secure a loan in the amount of $140,000.00 at 2.4% for four years. Seconded by Kerry Verrastro. Franklin Ruch, yes; Shawn Haggerty, yes; Bruce Steigerwalt, yes; Kerry Verrastro, yes and John Wieczorek, no 4-1 vote.

OTHER BUSINESS:

John Wieczorek shared that he attended the CCTC meeting and they decided togo with Berkheimer.

Troxell Hill: TheTownship will do base repair and pipe work. Does the township want to put the rest out to bid?

Franklin Ruch made a motion based upon the provided proof to notify the bureau to invalidate the liens for taxpayers:

ADJOURNMENT:

Bruce Steigerwalt made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 PM. Seconded by Franklin Ruch. John Wieczorek, yes; Bruce Steigerwalt, yes; Kerry Verrastro, yes; Franklin Ruch and Shawn Haggerty, yes 5-0 vote. Motion carried.
