Training and Volunteer Development Manager for Advice Matters Project (25 hours)

Fixed Term: until July 2015

Location: Maidenhead CAB

Reports to: Project Co-ordinator

Reports: none but some support from Project Administrator

Purpose: To support the review of training and recruitment across East Berks CABs (Maidenhead, Bracknell and Slough) as part of abusiness transformation project, Advice Matters. To set up joint training programmes, recruitment systems and develop training products.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Review training and recruitment systems across East Berks Citizens Advice Bureaux.
  • Consider alternative training and recruitment models within Citizens Advice and external agencies including “fast track training”. Devise training using a range of effective and innovative training methodologies and activities, including adapting materials from Citizens Advice and elsewhere.
  • Develop and set up new training and recruitment systems, working collaboratively with project partners.
  • Identify opportunities to make further use of technology in recruitment and training.
  • Identify opportunities for selling training services externally; which will allow East Berks CABs to diversify income streams.
  • Work with Project team to develop a plan to meet the training and recruitment objectives, timescales and outcomes of the Advice Matters project.
  • Liaison and working in partnership with all project team members/partners/community organisation to support their timely implementation of activities
  • Monitor progress reporting on agreed objectives
  • Collate information and compile reports to meet Big Lottery’s requirement

  • Understanding of equality and diversity and its application to service delivery and business development (E)
  • Some knowledge of Citizens Advice work would be useful but not essential
