  • Daisy Chain

Autism charity Daisy Chain provides a range of services, including support and activity groups for the whole family from the 5.5 acre farm in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees. Autism has a huge impact on the whole family so Daisy Chain takes into account the needs of the child, parents, carers and siblings.

  • Children with Disabilities Social Work Team

The Children with Disabilities Team provides a social work service to children with disabilities, both learning and physical, within Redcar and Cleveland. Access to services from Children's Services is through referral and subsequent assessment by the team. A referral should initially be made to the First Contact Team or Adults Access Team both based at Seafield House, Redcar. Please telephone 01642 771500. A decision based on the information provided will be made about which is the most appropriate team to complete the ‘Assessment of Need’. The assessment will then be carried out.

  • The Cleveland Unit

The Cleveland Unit offers early identification and intervention for children with complex and special educational needs. They complete multi-disciplinary assessments, and have an assessment nursery and joint education and therapy groups for parents/carers. Earlybird training is organised for parents/carers of children with a diagnosis of autism. A home lending library of specialist toys/equipment is available for parents accessing the Cleveland Unit.

  • Mommy’s Little Helper

Mommy’s Little Helper is Payroll and Fund Management Assistance for Families with Disabled Children, providing a suite of services for families with disabled children that employ a carer or PA via a Local Authority Direct Payment or Individual Budget.

They offer assistance to families to ensure employees are paid on time, calculating tax and National Insurance, providing payslips, reporting to HM Revenue and Customs, helping families to meet obligations as an employer and applying for Enhanced DBS checks.
For those who would eventually like to become independent and run their own payroll system from home, they offer a complete set up service and training. A tailor made 'rescue package' is offered for those that have allowed their DP to slip into difficulty to get families back on track. Home consultations are standard and all conversations are private and confidential.

  • Child Deaf Youth Project

CHILD Deaf Youth Project is a registered charity working for all deaf and hard of hearing children and young people in the Tees Valley. They provide new opportunities and experiences after school and in the holidays for children and young people aged 5 – 18 years.   • Join Us Project – Disability Integration Project

‘Join Us’ (For 10-13 year olds) and Join Us + (For 13-18 year olds) are projects for young people with a disability. They take place in youth centres in the early evening when they can meet, make friends, relax and take part in activities if they wish to, in a safe and supervised environment.

The young people are looked after by trained youth workers who are keen to ensure the enjoyment of the young people attending. The youth workers provide support on young people’s issues and also offer a wide range of activities that can include trips, arts and crafts, music, discos, cooking and access to computers to name but a few.

  • MAIN – Taking Autism Personally.

MAIN offer a wide range of services to both Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum across Tees Valley, ranging from Short Break Respite, Clubs, 1:1 PA Support, Benefits advice & practical support, adult social groups, employment support, and much more.

MAIN offer accredited training courses in ADHD Level 2 & 3 as well as continuing our Level 2 and 3 Understanding Autism courses throughout the year. They offer a wide range of specialised workshops and specialised bespoke training packages accommodatedfor employers.

  • P.A.L.S. - Play Activities Listening Ear Support- Helping Families with Children on the Autistic Spectrum.

PALS is a group for parents of children on the Autistic Spectrum and their families. The group meets on Friday evenings (fortnightly / term time) at the Salvation Army in Middlesbrough.
