Awarded a Life sentence. Deported on the ship ‘Dromedary’, to New South Wales, in 1820.

/ Burglary.

Lincoln Assizes on 10th March 1821.

Punishment:

Death sentence - commuted to Life. Deported on the ship ‘Eliza’, to New South Wales, in 1822.

Johnson, William (Labourer)

Aged: 28

Resident of Bardney

Crime:

/ Burglariously entering the dwelling house of William Smith, of Bardney, wilfully and maliciously beating and wounding, with intent to murder and rob, William Kirmond, a lodger

Tried:

Lincoln Assizes on 7thMarch 1818.

Punishment:

Awarded a 7-year sentence. Deported on the ship ‘Globe’, to New South Wales, in 1819.

Smith, Ann (alias Wardle and Wardell)

Aged: 31

Resident of Southrey

Crime:

Breaking into the shop of William Holland, in Southrey, and stealing 7 pieces of print, a web of Irish linen, 36 handkerchiefs, a part of a web of calico, 3 pairs of women's cotton hose and sundry other articles.

Lincoln Assizes on 31st July 1813

Punishment:

Death sentence - commuted to Double Life. Deported on the ship ‘Broxbornebury’, to New South Wales, in 1814.

Taylor, Richard (Labourer)

Aged: 19

Resident of Wragby/Lincoln

Crime:

/ Assaulting Samuel Bee on the King's Highway, at Wragby, and stealing a silver watch and a hat.
Convicted with James Jackson and Thomas Monk.

Tried:

Lincoln Assizes on 14th March 1829.

Punishment:

Death sentence - commuted toLife. Deported on the ship ‘Layton’ to New South Wales, in 1829.

Wilson, Thomas (Labourer)

Aged: 20

Resident of Wragby

Crime:

/ Stealing boots, shoes and other items from the shop of James Limon of Wragby; stealing large quantities of wearing apparel belonging to William Lee, tailor and draper; stealing a large quantity of wearing apparel from John Utterby of Caistor, tailor and draper; stealing 2 hemp sacks from Paul Hacket of Tealby; stealing 5 speckled white and black ducks from the farmyard of Daniel Drakass of Ludford; stealing a hemp sack, 6 stone of wheat flour, etc, from the corn mill of William Cunningham of Ludford; stealing a saw, 2 knives, a hammer, some mutton and other articles from the shop and dwelling house of William Wright of Ludford.
Crimes committed with Edward Taylor and Edward Broxholm. Some of the stolen goods were received by Jane Atkin of Louth.

Lincoln Assizes on 8th March 1823.

Punishment:

Death sentence - commuted to Life. Deported on the ship ‘Sir Godfrey Webster’ to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania), in 1823.
