In 2007, the UMBC Chapter of Black and Latino Alumni (CBLA) created the Legends of Excellence Brunch to honor faculty and staff who were instrumental in the lives of UMBC’s African-American and Latino students. Held once every 5 years, this event reunites hundreds of UMBC alumni, faculty and staff for an afternoon of recognition and gratitude.

The Legends of Excellence Committee will be accepting nominations of UMBC current, former and retired faculty and staff memberswho have beeninstrumental in the lives of African-American and Latino students over the past 50 years. Nominations may be submitted by UMBC alumni and students. Nominees must have been a UMBC employee for a minimum of 5 years. Previous nominees are eligible, however previous awardees are not.
