Kim Givens

Kim Givens has spent a tremendous amount of her time volunteering at Endeavour. The many ways in which she volunteers shows a real dedication to the students at Endeavour and the programs that benefit them. Whether volunteering in her child’s classroom, helping with an event, or chairing a program, it is hard not to run into Kim at the school on a daily basis. She is always doing something to help!

Kim is always volunteering for Endeavour in big ways. For three years, Kim has taken on the huge role of the Discover ART supply chair. In this role, not only does she manage, reorder and prep supplies, but she also helps out with building-wide docent trainings every month. Kim spends many hours making sure to stretch PTSA art funds by making smart purchases and by researching every discount available. She also plans art projects so that there is minimal waste of resources. Art docents in the school will tell you that she is always available to help find supplies, answer questions, and provide tips for making a project a success.

Kim is also the chair of Banking Days for students each month. You will find her sitting at the banking table throughout all the lunches so that students can deposit their money and get into a savings habit. Her smiling face and friendly attitude always welcome students!

Kim is involved in virtually every program at school. If there is a PTSA-sponsored event, she will be the first one offering to help out. She has been a bus greeter at the beginning of school, recorded minutes for Eager Reader, volunteered at Field Day, Picture Day, Spooky Spaghetti, Walk-a-thon, Vision and Hearing Screening, and 5th grade promotion. Her dedication to Endeavour and its students is apparent in all that she does to help make programs successful for children and families! Kim has come to the rescue with her willingness to help on more than one occasion.

In addition to chairing programs and volunteering for events, Kim volunteers in her daughter’s class. She has been an Art Docent for four years, fostering a love of art with the students. She also supports classroom teachers by providing clerical help and by being a room parent.

The Endeavour community is not the only one that benefits from Kim’s dedication to volunteerism. Kim also provides support to programs at Beaver Lake Middle School. At BLMS, she has worked with Vision and Hearing Screening, Staff Appreciation Lunches, the Magazine drive, and Honor Roll. Kim’s community involvement extends even further than the schools. She is the co-leader of both of her daughters’ Girl Scout Troops, opening up her home for meetings, and always going the extra mile to create fun, organized experiences for the girls. Additionally, Kim volunteers with Issaquah Parks and Recreation’s basketball and soccer programs, as needed.

There is no doubt that Kim is dedicated to improving the lives of children in our community. She works tirelessly to provide support to everyone at Endeavour. An enormous hole will be left at Endeavour when Kim/her youngest daughter go on to BLMS.
