Job Description: Coordinate specified activities to ensure services are provided in accordance with all state laws, regulations and internal policies. Support foster parents in facilitating the provision of safe, secure and nurturing living experiences for children in accordance with laws, regulations and internal policies. Provide casework services to foster youth in the care of the foster homes within the agency.
Duties, Include but are not limited to:
  • Schedule agency required contact with foster parents and foster youth
  • Document all activities or interaction with foster youth, foster parents, county workers, CASA's, GAL's, teachers, etc. This includes phone calls, home visits, out of home visits, counseling appointments, school visits, doctor appointments, emails and other forms of messaging
  • Attend all meetings involving foster youth on assigned caseload such as SAR's, IEP's, ICP's, Treatment Team Meetings, School Meetings, and Court Appointments, etc.
  • Provide backup for other caseworkers who may be unable to attend specific meetings for youth on their caseload
  • Ensure all youth on assigned caseload attend their scheduled & required appointments such as family visits, physicals, dental, optical and counseling appointments, etc., and all paperwork is turned in
  • Complete all monthly and/or quarterly reports by their due dates
  • Complete incident reports as required and submit to the county agency, CASA, Probation Officer or any other persons involved in the case within 24 hours of the incident
  • Ensure foster parents are keeping life books for all foster youth in the home
  • Provide support and guidance to foster parents regarding any issues they may have and assist them in completing required paperwork as needed
  • Enforce compliance of foster families with KCT and ODJFS policies, procedures and rules
  • Attend assessor tier trainings
  • Upon completion of tier training complete home studies, re-certifications, amendments or other licensing responsibilities if assigned
  • Attend training sessions when needed or requested by Administrator
  • Attend agency activities as requested by the administrator
  • Maintain CEU's required to keep LSW current
  • Participate in the rotation of the on call phone
  • Update the administrator in a timely manner with information as appropriate
  • Give input for potential placements, and be involved in the placement process
  • Participate in all ICP meetings of foster youth on assigned caseload
  • Ensure all ICP's are submitted within 2 weeks of conducting the meeting
  • Attend foster parent monthly trainings and prepare youth group activities in advance in accordance to agency policies
  • Provide Independent Living services to Qualifying children on assigned caseload
  • Attend annual MEPA training updates
  • Complies with all MEPA requirements set forth by the agency
  • Reports all MEPA concerns/violations to administrative director or designee immediately
  • Complete foster home investigations, cite rule violations, and implement corrective action plans when out of compliance
  • Network and promote agency programs with county agencies and outside organizations
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Administrator
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, LSW preferred, team oriented, flexible,effective communicationskills, knowledge of child development, behavior & discipline, knowledge of regulations and laws applicable to private foster care agency.
