Just Some Comments February 2018

Hi ladies. Thanks for coming this evening. Get comfy and turn on your listening ears because we have a lot to discuss. (Ha) This spring is full of JSC activities. I’m excited to work with each of you to prepare for these events and do the very best we can for our community. I’m also excited for tonight’s service project. It will be fun to use our helping hands to create something that shares a bit of Valentine’s Day joy. Hopefully, this small token will bring a smile to many of our senior community members

Thanks and violets to tonight’s hostesses for their creativity with the evening’s theme and snacks. I’m curious to learn a bit about our past presidents through their food choices. Also, thanks to all of you for your continued generosity. Thanks for bringing donations for the food pantry and for our upcoming events.

Meet a board member-Joyce Achenbach, reporter, has been in JSC since 2007. Before then, she spent a lot of time traveling with her husband, Mark, who was in the Navy. They were stationed in Pacific Grove CA, San Diego CA, Yokosuka Japan and Chesapeake VA. Upon retirement, they returned home to be near family.

Joyce is currently employed as a PRN MRI tech at Anderson Hospital and Maryville Imaging. In her off time, she enjoys bicycling, walking, exercising and her cats Woody and Toenie.

As a JSC member, Joyce has been a past treasurer, chairman of several committees including Italian Fest and hostess of several club meetings. She recently received a new camera for Christmas so has agreed to be reporter next year also.
