JUNIOR STAFF APPLICATION

All volunteer staff members are expected to be at the University of Maine at Farmington by 5:00PM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 and may not leave the Seminar Site until the seminar finishes at 3:00PM on Sunday, June 4, 2017. All volunteers are expected to complete online training prior to the seminar.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS

Junior Facilitator (under 21 years old):The facilitators at HOBY are responsible for guiding the ambassadors through the HOBY weekend in various tasks: leading group discussions, fostering community in the small group, and doing their best to give an outstanding experience to their ambassadors. Facilitators will work closely with their Senior Facilitator, their group, and the other HOBY facilitators to create a memorable weekend.

Media Team (18-20 years old): The media team is responsible for capturing the excitement and transformation of the HOBY Maine seminar weekend. Through photos and video this team will help tell the story of the weekend through social media and a seminar celebration video. This team will also gather footage to be used in 2018 recruiting and fundraising tools. Media Team will partner closely with the Operations team to coordinate live and video cheer offs with other HOBY sites – including HOBY Virginia!

Operations Team(18 – 20 years old): The operations team is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the seminar weekend – including registration, room and activity set ups, meal set ups – are ready to go when needed. This team is critical to the success of the entire weekend and partners closely with the Facilitation team and the Media Team. The Ops team will work with the Media team to coordinate live and video cheer offs!

Note: In selecting our staff, the Directors of Facilitators, Director of Operations, and Director of Media will use their discretion to select your role. Junior Staff under the age of 18 are only eligible to volunteer as Junior Facilitators. Junior Staff over the age of 18, but under the age of 21, may be placed as a Junior Facilitators, Operations, or Media.
