Mathematics / English / Science
Counting skills in 10’s/5’s/2s;holding number in head and counting on; instant recall of number bonds to 10; using 100 sq. to count on in 10’s; read word numbers to 20; partitioning ‘teen’ numbers; adding single digit numbers to 10;reinforcing reading and writing of numbers/days/months; comparing and ordering numbers; basic + and – skills; 2D and 3Dshape; making NETs to produce shapes.
Teachers: Mrs George & MrsWhitehurst / Writing recounts, labels, lists and signs, fairy stories, instructions and letters.
Develop skills in Letters and Sounds phonics, using cues from ‘Read, Write, Inc’ to support acquisition. Introduce and apply appropriate SPAG.
Handwriting: develop fine motor skills and refine pre-cursive letter formation.
Reading:decoding, expression and comprehension.
Drama taught by Mrs Wildey will develop listening, speaking and performing skills and will include preparation a Christmas performance.

History will cover the period of 100,000BC to the First Settlers living in Britain. We will look at Early Cave Man and recreate our own cave paintings. Through Forest School, we will build camp fires and simple den homes (simulating branch and animal hide.)
Visit to Warwick castle.

‘Abacus Maths’ programme to reinforce new mathematical concepts and Espresso to reinforce English work.
Introduction to Algorithms-developing instructions both on and off the computers. Using ipad software to support other curricular areas.

Hand-eye coordination exercises: Throwing and catching: quoits; small and large balls; individually; in twos and in groups.
