Dear Parents and Community Members:

We are pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER)that provides key information on the 2015-2016 educational progress for McMonagle Elementary School. The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains information about student assessment, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and teacher quality. If you have any questions about the AER, please contact Dianne Coplin for assistance (810) 591-5145.

The AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the following web site or you may review a copy from the office at McMonagle Elementary.

Additional Information:

  1. McMonagle Elementary School continues to use the school improvement process to re-evaluate current goals, establish new goals, and to collaboratively work together to improve our schools’ performance. Our goals this school year have a clear focus on math and Science instruction and integration as well as implementing school-wide PBIS.
  1. McMonagle Elementary is only one elementary school in the district.
  1. The core curriculum is accessible in the office at McMonagle Elementary by grade level. Teachers work collaboratively through weekly grade level meetings to ensure delivery of the instruction is aligned to state standards and equitable. The core curriculum varies from the state’s model in that our pacing, sequence and resources have been individualized
  1. Student achievement results are attached to this letter
  1. Parent/Teacher Conferences are held in the fall and spring of each year. Data is collected regarding the contacts between parents and teachers. In thefall conference cycle we had 272 contacts(71%).During the spring conferencecycle we had 252 contacts (66%).

As the principal of McMonagle Elementary School I anticipate a productive and successful year. Improvements are being made by implementing building-wide initiatives to ensure the success of every student. We are analyzing areas of instructional delivery, positive behavior support and technology integration in order to better meet the needs of our students.

I welcome suggestions, questions and comments from all stakeholders (810-591-5145).

Sincerely,

Dianne Coplin, Principal
