Report to:Learning, Skills & Work Manager

Location:Head office, although travel to projects and other sites will be required

Salary:Scale 6, Point 26 – 28, £21,937 - £23,405, pro-rata, per annum.

Hours:18.75 hours per week – evening and weekend work may be required.

Job Purpose

To coordinate in-house workshops in conjunction with the wider Learning, Skills and Work team

To source and secure sustainable education, training and employment opportunities for young people at St Basils, in line with residents’ goals and suitability.

To develop effective partnerships, providing employers and other providers with a high quality, consistent service that represents St Basils’ ethos and values.

Main Duties

Liaise with relevant training, education and employment service providers and notify LSW team and young people of suitable opportunities

Coordinate, deliver and support in-house workshops

Establish and maintain a network of relevant employment and training contacts

To liaise with key staff in assessing young peoples’ needs and establish appropriate pathways, leading to positive outcomes. Track and record young peoples’ progress

Identify and recommend additional resources and services appropriate to the client group

Manage the co-ordination of responses to employers’/providers’ requirements following identification and qualification of young peoples’ and providers’ needs

Monitor labour market trends in order to match young people with relevant training opportunities

Work diligently to assess and understand employers’ and training providers’ needs, overcoming any challenges in provider engagement

Promote the service to employers and other providers through relationship management, sales and tailored marketing strategies with the aim of securing opportunities for St Basils’ young people. A particular emphasis to be placed on a shared understanding of the needs of our residents

Ensure provider adherence with Health and Safety and safeguarding requirements, carrying out risk assessments where necessary

Attend careers events, meeting, conferences and seminars as appropriate

Deliver Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) in accordance with the Matrix Standard quality mark

Remain in contact with young people and providers in the early stages of progression, offering support, advice and guidance, as required

Achieve contractual and personal objectives

Monitor outcomes to ensure performance against set objectives

Miscellaneous Duties

Regularly evaluate service delivery, using feedback from residents and project staff

Prepare a monthly report of all activity, progress etc.

Maintain records of all residents/users action plans and progress

Represent St. Basils at external events, as required

Any other duties deemed necessary by the Line Manager and/or the Senior Management Team of St. Basils

General

Attend staff meetings and in-house training sessions, as required

To be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others at work

The post holder must take responsibility for their own self development and ensure that the knowledge and information they use in their job is current and relevant

To consult with Line Manager and/or the Agency’s Public Relations/Media Officer when likely to be involved in any campaigning issues or before any involvement with the media on matters relating to St. Basils

St. Basils is dependent upon its ability to raise funds in order to sustain and develop its work with young people. Therefore, all employees are expected to support the work of the Fundraising Department and wherever possible, be involved in Fundraising events

Annual Leave:

25 days holiday, plus 8 days statutory & 3 concessionary holidays, per annum, pro rata.
